I love the Hawthorns centre , unfortunately due to cut backs the centre inside is not as good as it once was but the outside walk is still as lovely. If you love nature take your time if its open and you will see the butterflies , dragonflies , newts , lizards and birds . The wild flowers in spring are wonderful . The cafe is great and in such a wonderful spot . We had a great lunch and coffee here and they serve great icecream with many flavours. It is worth a visit.

A fantastic gem in Southampton! The Hawthorns Urban Wildlife Centre is a wonderful place to escape into nature without leaving the city. The exhibits are informative, and the displays on local wildlife are both engaging and educational. The walking trails around the centre are well-maintained, and you can spot various local animals, including birds, insects, and small mammals. It's perfect for families and nature lovers alike. There’s also a small café with great refreshments, making it a lovely spot for a peaceful break. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Southampton!

Massively overpriced for such poor quality food, £5.50 for an advertised kid's toastie and drink but you can only have a fruit shoot or water as the drink, which isn't stated on the sign.

We had some lunch and a hot drink. My daughter had an egg mayo sandwich which was big chunks of egg that had been over cooked as the yoke was green. We also found egg shell in there so we took it back and asked for our money back. We had a tea cake which was supposed to be hot but came out cold and with minimal butter so it was very dry. Not impressed at all.

Lovely centre to rest your legs whilst on the Common. Great little cafe with Italian coffee. Outside area by the pond. Good range of meals and cakes. Cosy and clean. Good place to meet friends for a coffee. Do a great Christmas lunch in December.

Nice clean, friendly cafe. Obviously popular as busy but could still find a table. The food was lovely and freshly made and a very good price for the portion size.

Lovely place for a coffee stop plus anything up to a 3 course meal! A short walk around the site (even at this time of year) there was enough to see. Well worth s visit after the lovely new park on the common. Just remember to have cash as no cards accepted!
