Steve was so supportive throughout, it wasn’t the easiest of sales and a stressful time, but Steve handled this with professionalism, excellent communication and managed to keep us calm throughout.    Would strongly advise not to use this company. In short, they are unhelpful and exceptionally slow. One month ago, we passed on our details and our tenants agreed access to our property. After three weeks of no contact and the old tenants about to move, I emailed to chase up. I was then told, they had decided to wait until the tenants had left as when they attended to take photos there were boxes everywhere. After checking with the tenant, there were a few boxes which could have easily been moved for photos to be taken. It was very kind of Steve to take his time and agreed (amongst himself) to wait a month to even consider doing his job and advertising the property. Of course, it is us that has to cover expenses and the mortgage whilst he has done nothing. We also had to deal with a rude staff member who couldn’t be less helpful if she tried, and another turning up an hour late to an appointment with no apology. To make it even worse, after 3 weeks of waiting, and the tenants moving out. We thought Bob Gutteridge would be keen to get in and get pictures taken for advertising. We even made sure we were around for the week to allow them access and to make the property as clean as possible. After turning up late, a staff member said she couldn’t take photos (no idea why), only Steve could do this. When asked when he could attend we were told it wouldn’t be this week as he was fully booked - despite knowing tenants would be out by then. So after a month of wasted time and money, we advertised with a different and competent company. Letting out property can be stressful, please avoid this poorly run company and go with someone else.

   Due to Covid and the Financial Crisis our sale has taken almost a year to process. At the start of the sale, my wife became very ill with a brain tumour and died on the 29 December at the Douglas Macmillan (who were absolutely marvellous). During all this time we have been treated with courtesy, patience and understanding. They did their utmost to make a really trying time a little less fraught. They get my (and my wife's) utmost thanks. I would recommend them as Estate Agents of choice for your next sale in a heartbeat.
