    Worst of the worst. Tried several times over the weeks to email. No reply. Called the company 20-30 times for weeks and weeks. Call is put on hold and NEVER answered. They wouldn't let me cancel within 14 days. After more than a month I received a text not an email. That said my insurance is cancelled. A small amount of the cost of the policy was returned to the account and that was it. They basically waited until after the 14 days where I could have received the amount back and then told me it was cancelled. Most of the money I was charged for the policy they kept. Don't use this insurer and tell everyone you know to stay well away.

    First Insurance have charged me £110 to cancel a car insurance policy during the 14 day cancellation period because, according to them, they still have to pay the credit lender???? I will be taking my claim to the FCA to ensure that a light is being held up to this questionable practice. Can't believe Compare the Market actually promote this company on their site.

    The people on the phone are very nice and polite, unfortunately they work for a company and system which squeezes the most money possible out of their customers. I signed up to first insurance and was sent insurance details for Ladybird, when calling to ask why this has happened and why nobody told me about ladybird when signing up, they just said it's the same company. Now I am receiving emails from First and Ladybird, all very confusing. They also sent me threatening emails saying that I needed to call them within 7 days or my policy will be cancelled, after spending 35 mins on the phone trying to get to the bottom of the issue, I was finally told that it was their mistake and that they were sorry. Useless and very annoying, will not be renewing my policy with this terrible company,

    If no stars were an option I wouldn't be giving them one. Being insured with First has been a year of misery. I should have shied away the moment they added £100 to the premium because I had remembered the date I passed my driving test 14 yrs ago wrong by one month. I did however go ahead with them. From that point the blunders started. They forgot to insure me with underwriters, they often phoned me to tell me that if I didn't provide evidence of why my driving licence had a particular expiry date (completely legal) I would be uninsured within 24hrs. I provided this evidence 3 times. They refused to put in writing that i was insured. Many other issues to involved for. I would highly recommend you avoid First at all costs and pay the extra for a reputable company. The only positive to come from all this is that i now view my recent acrimonious divorce as a positive and affirming experience in comparison to dealing with First.

    Avoid at all cost. If you trying to change your car and is worth less then £2000 they will starts making troubles. I been charge~ £310 for 21 days of insurance....... . Also this organisation struggling in terms of communication with customers. I received 3 text messages about sending outstanding documents without any more details. After that I was charged another £15 :(. If you clean your cookies from the browser you can afford to buy policy from some more serious people ( compare websites)
