   I’ve just completed my PB2 with Solent Boat Training and had a genuinely great experience. My instructor Bryan was brilliant. You can tell he’s really passionate about what he does and not just teaching to tick boxes. He took time to explain things properly and often went beyond the syllabus, which actually made a big difference to my confidence on the water. The whole two days felt relaxed but really well structured, and I came away feeling like I’d learned a lot rather than just passed a course. I’d 100% recommend Solent Boat Training, especially if you are lucky enough to get Bryan as your instructor :)

   Just completed my Yachtmaster Offshore Power COC and PB Instructor course with SBT. Having worked through both the Power and Motor syllabus with them, as well as some Shorebased courses, over the last 3 years, I can honestly say that no other centre could come close. Sam, Kallan, Bryan, Sean and Rob are all excellent with their own unique styles and expert levels of competence, giving students a robust depth of knowledge and skills. The training boats are particularly well equipped and allow for skill-building in areas well beyond the syllabus, all of which help increase a boater's confidence, safety and enjoyment on the water.

Terry was a brilliant instructor, always making sure everyone felt comfortable and confident no matter their prior experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking to gain practical sailing skills in a welcoming, supportive environment.

   The best place to learn! Bella is an incredible instructor. Demonstrates, explains and gives you pointers at the end. Could not wish for a better person! Accommodation is brilliant, great wealth of knowledge regarding the local areas. Will be coming back again! Sean taught me my day skipper theory and wouldnt go anywhere else!

   We had a wonderful time on the 2 day mile builder experience. I had recently completed the RYA competent crew course but with no other sailing experience, this 2 day experience was an excellent way for me to put the theory into practice. We sailed to the Isle of Wight and stayed overnight. The instructor (Matt) was knowledgeable and friendly, and he took the time to get to know what we all wanted to get out of the experience. As it was a small group (3 others) we all got the opportunity to develop our skills. A wonderful couple of days, I will definitely be back to build more miles!! Thank you Matt for a wonderful time!

   Updated - more photos after passing Level 2 and going back for my Level 3 Powerboat Operator, along with the VHF radio exam. As per the previous experience, a top class experience, great instructor who did the Level3 and the VHF exams, along with MDL who provided parking and access to their facilities - I’ll see you all again soon, I’m coming back for my Level 4! Another 5 Stars for each course ————————————————————- I went for my powerboat Level 2 course and Solent Boat Training were absolutely fantastic. Instructor ‘Russ’ was first class and his previous military teaching techniques transferred beautifully into this course! For those that know EDIP will know, but all the candidates achieved each technique first time. The biggest mistake I made was not doing as advised in the pre course notes. I assumed the passport photograph would be easy to find - but Sod’s Law had machines out of order, or not there anymore. Don’t suffer the same stress and follow their guidance note. The insurance recommendations were also followed and I used the post office policy - it was less than £20 for the course. Finally - the VHF radio offer if you get it, take it!! Enjoy the experience, they’re top class and as a result of my experience with Russ, I’m already planning to go back for my next course. 5 stars!

   Recommend, recommend, recommend! Just back from our 5 day courses! A family of 4 making up, 3 Comp Crews and 1 Day Skip. A massive thanks to Dom for his clear instructing and a fab 5 days out on the water. Sad that it's all over but really happy that we all got our tickets and learnt so much more than we could have imagined. Our confidence has blossomed and we can't wait to get back out there!    Recently completed a 5 day Day Skipper Theory course with Tom @ Solent Boat Training. A brilliant 5 days, thoroughly enjoyable and learnt loads. Being a classroom based course for 5 days, Tom kept the 6 of us engaged and was incredibly attentive to any difficulties we had with the course content and adapted to the different candidate abilities really well. I will 100% be returning to Solent Boat Training for future courses. 10/10 from me.
