To me it's so important to see at close quarters what furniture is like and to try chairs and beds for comfort that I've been know to travel quite long distances to find a store where the furniture I'm interested in is on display. If the store has staff that know what they're talking about that is a significant added bonus. Bennetts is such a place and it was a delight to spend some time there and, indeed, make a purchase.

What an efficient and professionally run business. We bought two rather expensive leather recliner chairs and the foam went very quickly. The owner came out and agreed with us and it was replaced. The whole process took time as they came from Norway but Carmen kept us informed all the way and the owner couldn't have done more to help us. What a positive and refreshing shopping experience. Absolutely awful place, went to visit and saw one older looking colleague scream and shout at this lad working there, on the shop floor! So so so unprofessional. So much for a family run business! That’s someone’s son! Avoid also, rat droppings inside the premise, tried to overlook until I saw the altercation happen. You’ll only cry when that young lad isn’t there anymore to do all the heavy lifting! I hope you lose good paying customers as from previous reviews you pay bare minimum as well! That flood should’ve shut you for good.

We urgently needed a riser recliner chair for my mother, who was coming out of hospital after 11 weeks. After an email enquiry, Bennetts told us it would take 12 to 17 weeks to get a chair. I rang to see if they had any in store that could be the right size for my mum. The man I spoke to said they recommend going in and trying before buying. I explained that due to my mother and my wife being very vulnerable to covid, plus the fact that we don't drive, that it would not be possible to go in and try a chair but that we were happy to take the risk because we needed to get one. Without even taking the measurements, the man asked me to hold and went away for a couple of minutes. When he came back he told me that they would not be suitable at this time because they would not want to send out a chair that might be wrong and would then be sent back! So without even seeing if he could help me, they basically refused my custom, even though I was ready to spend potentially over £1000 and take any risk no problem. I accepted their decision and hung up. I then rang and bought a chair from The Sofa Company, without trying it. It came today - so within ten days - and mum is delighted with it.
