The most overhyped educational establishment! Lessons are often cancelled because of ill teachers or preparation for open days or this that and the other. No support given and no interest in student wellbeing. Lessons seem very dull and uninspiring. Donβt choose this college based on its past success. It has become a machine.

My daughter attended between 2019 and 2021 , whilst I fully understand this was a difficult period the level of support from the teachers in her classes was extremely poor, for several months literature was just e mailed with now online support at all and the level of support and structure to her A level Drama course was shocking. When escalated several times to the Faculty Heads and the Principle, it was clear the matter would just be "swept under the carpet." A very disappointing experience for my daughter for what should have been a wonderful educational experience even allowing the the circumstances.

After attending here for 2 years I can confirm all comments about the lack of support are accurate. College caters to rich student from neighbouring secondary schools If you're working class/not local to Winchester I don't recommend this college. Even the facilities are lacking, learning centres are mostly full and sports facilities are limited. If you feel you don't need teachers to learn then this college is for you. If I could go back in time I would never of chosen this college.

The whole ethos is terrible. The college encourage their students to work unrealistically hard, resulting in massive mental health problems for the vast majority. When these problems occur, there is little to no support and teachers are poor at providing the support regardless. Teachers regularly show major favouritism towards their preferred students (often this is related to gender) this is particularly a problem in the history department where ability is ignored in predicted grades among other things in favour of students with a better relationship with the teacher. This college also has major problems with drugs to the extent that the college has stopped anti-drug work and instead teaches the students to take them safely (not even discouraging the use). You don't even have to look in order to find bags of drugs and people talk freely about stashes of drugs in bins. On many occasions students attend lessons under the influence of drugs. Only attend this college of you are already achieving well and have plenty of support from home. Additionally, the kitchen and canteen is unhygienic as I have heard and seen many cases of hair in food being served (within the boxes so it must have come from the workers.) 2/10

Please avoid for the mental and physical wellbeing of your child. As a prior pupil I can tell you the teaching standards are way below par, with some not even turning up for lessons and no interest in their pupils progression. A large percentage of students get involved in taking drugs (even on the premises) and I know of many students whom have experienced severe depression and anxiety (going from A* pupils to having to drop out and work low salary jobs) Please think about why your choosing this college if it's just because of the bravado... It's not worth it. You can get grades on a piece of paper anywhere and you need a supportive environment to be able to achieve them .
