We lost out on buying a property as the seller and seller’s solicitor did not want to deal with Underwood Vinecombe. They were being overly difficult throughout the whole process. We had to pay £1000 in fees for absolutely nothing after 7 months!
Used to use these guys a lot, great in the past. Sadly, had a poor experience this time around. Complained about some issues to one of the seniors who wasn't very responsive, didn't call me as requested and to be honest, has no sense of customer service. Won't be using them again unfortunately. The main issue is that the solicitor I was using for a house purchase, was too OTT with requirements and lost me the sale. They then insisted I pay the their fees after.. so I am about £1k down and no house purchase.. the sellers, their legal guys and the estate agents blame Underwood for this. The transaction started in November 2024, by August 2025 it was still going no where.. and then the sellers pulled out. The feedback was that Underwood were too stringent/nitpicky and they would rather sell to someone else using different solicitors!
