Best recommendation - our two dogs love going to the vets!! We've moved to Essex now but still return to Blackwater Valley Vets for non emergency treatments. Everyone is so dedicated & friendly.

All the staff are lovely and helpful. Our cats and dog have always been treated well and efficiently. When we sadly had our elderly cat pts George explained everything and the staff stayed later.

My dog had a problem with her teeth. The vet was very patient and helped him clean her teeth and extract the teeth under anesthesia. Now my dog can eat smoothly without toothache .

Today our beautiful 14 year staffie visited the vets for the last time. I just want to thank George Danielle and the other nurse sorry don't know your name for today. You were amazing with Jess and us such a peaceful end to our dogs life. George explained everything and what could happen. I would also like to thank the team at elm cottage for looking after her for the last 14 years. A special mention to Karen who has always helped us too. Your all amazing I wont ever forget you all

Vet was very nice and looked at issue with dogs ears and suggested ear drops, I questioned price and was told that that £57 was the cost and if I wanted to get a prescription to order them myself then they would charge £20 for a prescription on top of the £50 + consultation fee (we was in less that 10 minutes). Turns out the very same ear drops are £25 online so would have been better off paying for prescription. But generally speaking if your pet needs any medication you will be paying a lot for it. No breakdown of costs were given only a till receipt. Had previous issues where we was told to pop in with our cat for quick X-ray and was charged over £200 for it. Get upfront costs from this vet and a breakdown for everything as they don’t seem to realize people with pets don’t have unlimited money.
