We had to take our dog into VetsNow for emergency treatment for Acute Haemharragic Gastritis. We didn't realise how life threatening this was and that we took him in just in time. All the staff we dealt with were so kind, caring and patient. They knew how much our dog meant to us and let us come visit him and sit in his kennel/give him cuddles even though he was full of tubes/medicines and did not want to be there at all. The fees for out of hours vets are extortionate (Β£6500 spent so easily in only 4 days) and definitely emphasize the importance of pet insurance. The team tried to keep costs down where possible and we are so grateful for the option of them to make a direct claim with our insurance, so we didn't have to fork out Β£6000 cash which we don't have!! Thanks again to the team for getting our boy home alive and (nearly) well in time for Christmas!

Excellent service. My 14 month dachshund needed emergency surgery. She was very well looked after and cared for. The staff kept me informed at all times and were very caring, supportive and understanding

Would honestly give it Zero stars if I could SOLELY based on the awful receptionist who needs to get a new job. From the moment I walked in there, she acted like I was inconveniencing her. In case she doesnβt realise, she works in an overnight out of hours veterinary practice, which is somewhere people go when theyβre absolutely desperate. I didnβt take my puppy there for a routine appointment, he was seriously sick and it felt like she was judging me from as soon as I walked through the door. When sorting payment out, she acted like I was personally refusing to pay her. Her manager said I could pay Β£100 & sort my insurance details out as I didnβt have the money upfront. I went to pay the Β£100 for her to snatch the card reader away and ask if I could pay Β£130. In the shock of it all, I did, but what the actual hell? Unfortunately my puppy passed away later that night, the vets who dealt with me and him were absolutely fantastic and I cannot fault them enough. I was told to call the next day so I could get info about the next steps, the horrible receptionist called me to try and word vomit cremation options down my ear without even so much as a βsorry for your lossβ. She lacks total care and empathy, and to be quite frank, should probably get a retail job. Sheβs dealing with real people who love and care about their pets. Sheβs disgusting. I asked her to email me the options, and got the bluntest email over 24 hours later with not so much as a link. Honestly, Iβd get someone else to be the receptionist.

My dog had to have an emergency appointment last night & the Vets Now Reading team were brilliant. They were efficient, friendly, & caring. Joanne was the receptionist on duty & was extremely kind & helpful. Special thanks to Maddie the nurse for caring for my dog with such affection & treating him like her own :)

VETS NOW at Reading - their out of service was brilliant- our elderly dog was treated promptly, professionally and with kindness - and so were we while we were so worried about him- the staff were amazing and reassuring- he spent the night with them having painkillers, intravenous fluids and IV antibiotics- he was transfered to our local vet Falklands in Newbury the next morning and they continued the excellent treatment ensuring he was comfortable and cared for and he is now recovering back at home. The vets in both centres were patient, very kind and understanding, we were also kept fully informed throughout. We are very grateful at 13yrs (91) hes bouncing back having had excellent treatment and care by all the staff- a very big thank you - he will be able to go back to enjoying his 'happy place' soon

Excellent service with caring staff, couldn't have asked for more at a time when you need to use an after hours veterinary practise. Very thorough with the treatment and explaining the process for claiming on insurance. I would have no hesitation in using them again.

Our staffy had emergency surgery on Thursday and needed an overnight stay at vets now. Anita explained everything to us when we bought our dog in and what to expect. When we came to pick her up in the morning we had a detailed account of how she did overnight and all the cuddles she had as well as the much needed medicine. I just can't say thank you enough and just an incredible service. Thank you!!

I called late on a Saturday evening as I'd noticed a big lump beneath my hamster, Tofu's, chin. I called Vets Now and was advised to bring him in. We were seen right away by Anita, who is truly the loveliest vet I've ever met. She was very thorough in her explanations of treatment options, and treated Tofu with such kindness. I couldn't recommend her enough. Tofu is very appreciative too, even if he did put up a fight at first!

I had to attend with my beautiful dog and was welcomed by a vet who was reassuring and advised my dog was dehydrated with a fever and needed to stay the night for fluids On collection in the morning I was told all well and transfer back to my own vet who would likely send her home. Was told lungs and heart clear. Felt reassured but my dog Coughed all the way home and my own vet diagnosed large tumour in the lung . Recognise this is an emergency only vet but felt we were given wrong diagnosis and charged an extortionate amount. Bitterly disappointed . Was also overcharged following insurance repayment and have not had any success receiving the Β£45 overpayment despite phone calls and emails!
