Absolutely appalling neglect of my 18mo whilst she attended this nursery. Turned up to pick her up and she came running over to me absolutely stinking of her own poo and wee. She was soaked through. She'd been left in the same nappy the entire time she was in Busy Bees Burton's care and left to sit in her own waste. After the complaints investigation was concluded i was told there was a 'mix up on handover'. Where are your physical logs for nappy changes? If you weren't sure she had been changed why not change her just in case to avoid the blatant neglect of my child that then ensued? If I'd turned up at the nursery with my little girl in that state you'd have rang social services due to the level of neglect and rightly so! I've spent months deciding whether to publish this review but on reflection, if I were a prospective parent looking to send my child somewhere for childcare, I'd want to know this sort of thing had gone on behind closed doors. As a ex education worker myself, it’s such a shame this treatment of our daughter happened as the nursery is a clean and open environment and some of the staff genuinely want what’s best for the children. There are quite a few members of staff we encountered who are just not interested in interacting with the children in the room our little girl was in unfortunately. They just sat chatting to one another the other side of the room whilst our daughter was entertaining herself when we went to collect her.

My son has been attending Busy Bees in Burton for a couple of months now and we are so happy with the staff and the nursery itself. My son seems to have lots of fun when he is there and I love the personal touches such as staff greeting you on drop off and pick up. You can really see that the girls care so much for the children and strive to make them all as comfortable and happy as possible during their time at the nursery. Our boy’s key person is so so lovely. I just have one issue that I feel I want to raise that would really push the whole experience to a 10/10. When we were shown around when our son was then 8 weeks old, we were so impressed and there was a big emphasis on keeping parents up to do date and reassured on the app the Nursery uses to communicate daily events such as naps, nappy changes, meals, photos of your child etc. Most weeks I feel I have been left in the dark and the app not updated until mid afternoon, by which point my son has been there many hours. I feel like a pain for phoning to check on him and how his day is going, and I can’t always do this when I am at work, but I can check my phone quickly if I receive a notification. I totally understand it can get busy, but I do really wish the app was updated more regularly to put my mind at rest, and just so I know what he is up to and if he is ok, if he’s eaten, slept etc. This was explained to us as part of the package at Busy Bees and I do feel it is falling slightly short at the moment. Other than this I have no faults whatsoever!

Busy bees have nurtured, supported and encouraged my daughter in all they have taught her and in all that she is. The team absolutely make it here, every single one of them is fantastic. Cathy runs a tight ship and it’s clear that the team love here it as much as the kids do. Thank you busy bees for making my daughters first years what they are. We will be eternally grateful. X

Everyone at busy bees is friendly. All of the staff interact with the children very well and nothing is too much trouble. We have been using busy bees for 4 years now and have never had any issues. All of the staff have the children's best interests at heart.

I can not recommend this nursery enough, My two girls started at 5 months old and I was so so nervous about leaving them why they were so little, but the staff put me as ease and made me feel so comfortable in leaving the girls in their care. Now the girls absolutely thrive off nursery and love going in everyday to the exciting activities available. When my girls don’t go to nursery they really miss it. Which really puts my mind at ease that they are having the best time while I work.

My daughter attended the nursery from age 2-5, she loved everyday she spent in nursery and always had something exciting to tell me at the end of the day. Her confidence has grown since being at the nursery and this is down to the team being so welcoming and spending time to get to know my child as an individual, to be able to use her interest’s to encourage her learning and development to grow especially on the run up to starting school. I would recommend busy bees to anyone looking for childcare.

My daughter attended from about 8 months to 4 years and has progressed in school amazingly as a direct result of busy bees care and attention. My son currently attends and is in the preschool room. Again doing brilliantly and almost ready for school! The kids always come home with a story to tell and a smile on their face!

I completely love this nursery. Both of my children have attended here since they were 10 months old up to school age. All the staff are friendly, approachable and professional at all times. The personal touches that make a difference made me send my second child here- always a hello from all the staff when you walk in as well as everyone knowing my child’s name even when they aren’t his key worker and work in a completely different area of the nursery. These little touches make the whole experience of leaving my child less traumatic for us both. The children have plenty of fresh air in the nice weather and always do lots of lovely, fun activities like painting which I don’t dare do in my own home (messy!!!!). My little boy leaves this year to go to school and I can guarantee it will be a very sad time for my boy and myself. The girls at busy bees have been first class and will be missed very much. Keep up the good work ladies, I wish I could say I will be back with another baby in the future but that is definitely a never! Thanks for everything.

Currently, my 19-month-old son attends Busy Bees and thoroughly enjoys it. I also have a 5-year-old son that previously attended the nursery too. We have always and continue to be very happy with the care the manager and the team provide. My eldest son has special needs and the team at Burton always made sure his needs were met ensuring his time at the nursery was a happy one. He quite often talks about what he used to do at Busy Bees!! There is always fun and interesting activities to keep the children engaged, making learning a great experience. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this nursery to anyone.
