Been to this hotel a few times .rooms 1 to 4 are very cold in winter. This time we had a lovely warm room at the back of the hotel. Staff are always friendly. Decided to have dinner in the restaurant with family as it stated on the menu there was loads of gluten free choices only to be told I could only have grilled chicken .we did speak to a waiter afterwards with our concerns and he was very nice and apologetic. They really need to change there menu .we will definitely stay here again but mabye not use the restaurant in the evening.

Great location and clean, other than that pretty poor. Rooms very basic, £12 for a glass of wine, Attila No Fun the amateur barkeep can't make a French martini but offers nothing else instead. Intermittent cold water, the shower has 2 settings, SCALD and SKIN. In my humble opinion the olde worlde charm needs a lick of paint, some new bathrooms and a decent carpet and maybe hoover up the fake nails lying in the lacklustre yet overpriced bar. The breakfast is tragic and at a tenner a head really needs looking at. First morning renovations started in the next room without warning. I mean, we assume they were renovations judging by the incessant hammering on the adjoining, and it didn't sound like anyone was having a good time. We had a view of a graffiti'd wall and at 12.05 am they emptied the glass bins under our window. But as I said, well situated.

This hotel is in an excellent central location, particularly if you are taking a ferry or train. It's in walking distance of a number of restaurants, pubs, and attractions. The building and decor are somewhat old-fashioned, but the hotel is clean and quite comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Luggage storage is available. Our room was quite spacious and well-appointed with a kettle, tea, coffee, cocoa, snacks, and cold water in the mini-fridge. The bed was comfortable, and linens and towels were of good quality. The shower was excellent, spacious and good water pressure. My only complaint was our bathroom's odd layout, with the toilet and sink up a step from the main floor. Hazardous in the dark when you're sleepy! Wifi was acceptable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Booked High Tea online. Option on booking to say if it was for a special occasion. Noted it was for a birthday. No acknowledgement was made, so waste of time asking on booking form. On arrival the waitress was pleasant and she told us she was new when we asked some questions that she didn’t no the answers to. Toast arrived first, then our main meals. Requested water, waited and had to ask again. Asked for diluting juice for kids, but was given fresh orange and fresh apple. They didn’t like it. Jug of water finally came. Cakes came out and so did the ice cream for the kids but they were still eating their mains. Poor waitress went to make coffee and the manager (I think) went over to her, whilst you could hear her making the coffee, and said there was people waiting to be seated. Could he not have helped her out? It was only £11.95pp so you get what you pay for I suppose. Food was good though.

Room smelled of strongly of mildew and there were no plugs near the bed or easily accessible. The room also got a lot of street noise leading to a very poor night's sleep. Staff were friendly and I'm sure would have switched our rooms if we'd asked but we got in late and we're only staying one night so didn't bother. Breakfast was very good.

Stayed here for a weekend in January. Upgraded to a superior room but some rooms of friends were just as good and they hadn't upgraded. Room was nice and warm though and had a nice big TV. There was a lack of coathangers in the wardrobe ie 2 and despite asking for more they never appeared and we ended up getting some whilst out shopping. Breakfast was really nice. We also had high tea there and another meal. All catering staff nice and friendly and helpful. There's very little parking at the hotel so you would need to pay elsewhere for parking . All in all though we enjoyed our stay.

The only things that let the room down was the windows never opened and the room was far too hot but the reception gave us a large fan. I personally could not get out the shower in the bath safely as no handrail to hold on too.

Very warm welcome from the young gentleman on reception. Very happy with room and bathroom. We stayed 2 nights and the breakfast was brilliant. The location of the Station Hotel is great, especially as we got the train through to Aberdeen. Had a small issue with the key card to get into our room on 2nd night but was quickly fixed by the lady at reception. Would very much recommend this hotel.
