   I instructed this firm in July 2024 to handle a lease extension — a process that was initially quoted as taking 1–2 months. Nearly a year later, it is still unresolved, despite my constant efforts to chase progress. I have emailed regularly (often every other day), called almost daily at times, and raised formal complaints — all met with either silence or vague updates that have gone nowhere. After escalating the issue, I was promised action and communication, but again received nothing meaningful. I eventually had to contact the Land Registry myself, only to find out the situation hadn't changed since 13th May 2025 — something my solicitor should have easily been able to tell me. This prolonged delay has caused me significant stress, anxiety, and financial loss, as I continue to pay a mortgage and bills for a property I have already sold. I have now been forced to escalate the matter further and involve a family member locally just to get basic updates. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm — the lack of communication, urgency, and accountability has been extremely disappointing. If you’re considering using them for conveyancing or lease matters, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

   Awful experience for my son , if I could give zeros stars I would . A forecasted 1-2 months for a lease extension has now taken over 11 months . The lack or communication and professionalism from a solicitors is appalling. Delay now puts his property sale at risk . !!!!!!

   Avoid. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Used F&E after several recommendations and my experience of purchasing my first property with them was anything but pleasant. Poor and lack of communication, regular unreasoned delays and just general poor quality service.

   when you ask their office for help, a review, advise, another solicitor to help with your child case, they'll drop you. the office didn't even reply, no help, just found out who was representing me and clearly told them to drop me. communication is poor, listening to their clients is poor, they don't answer any of your questions, yea they do free legal aid but they'll treat you differently, they'll ask you for something then do nothing with it, they're that professional, they have dropped me right before 3 days of fact finding, a crucial stage, almost like a way out, I ended up in supervised contact because the barrister they supplied was incapable, they don't update or fill in the barristers they supply so you're going into court with zero to no chance of progress, they don't keep you in the loop, I'm now extremely emotional and stressed. steer clear of them.

   The only thing good about this place was that it was clean. That's really about all if you like a tiny room and being woken up at 4am by doors banging then this place would be lovely for you, not a lot for what you pay,

   This is the second time since the beginning of the year that we have used Footner Ewing and I am so pleased that we were recommended to use them. Matthew Yarham of the Romsey Office was so helpful and efficient in dealing with the two property sales which are now completed. One of these sales was during the lockdown and could have easily gone pear shaped. We are currently awaiting the completion of the sale of our property which will then make three sales this year. Matthew was such a pleasure to have working for us. Nothing was too much for him and he quickly advised us of any potential problems so that we could get them resolved.    Hopeless solicitors. Even two weeks was not enough to correct some mistakes in document they have made. They even cannot contact their clients to find out when they would move out. Do not respond to emails, do not call back, do not care about their clients or cases... they are not interested in finalising transaction at all!
