   Very good food as always lost a star today because of the wait time. No issues with waiting but if you are busy then just say it will be ready in 45mins not it will be ready in 10/15mins for me to then stand in a very busy shop for half an hour. I have no complaints about the food and it is totally worth the wait. Just be honest about how long it will take please. You guys work really hard and making sure the food is good. Happily returning customer.

   The kebabs are amazing!! The doner meat is the best we've ever had. Definitely recommend the Ampthill special, which feeds a whole family and will give you a bit of everything. I wouldn't go for the fish though. The batter is not good unfortunately. I wish they'd look into making a proper batter as we end up going to Flitwick instead if we want fish.

   Once again Ampthill fish bar enabled us to have a lovely fish and chip supper. We ordered 20 meals they were beautifully cooked and wrapped ready for collection. A great service thank you

   Been in multiple times never had an issue until today. Went in at 4:05 on a Sunday (4pm opening time) guy told us to wait another 15 minutes. No problem as we went into the pub next door for a drink in the sun. Probably got back in the fish shop around 4:35/40ish. 1st problem, customer service. The man behind the counter was rude, didn't even say hello or asked us what we wanted. Made us feel like we weren't welcome. After deciding what to order we ordered at the counter, he didn't confirm anything. I then chose to add a Turkish burger after a few seconds of deciding, again he was rude whilst taking my order. After this whilst waiting he randomly shouted "salt and vinegar" at us. We said yes (he didnt put any salt and vinegar on the chips). Was also extremely rude when asking if I wanted salad in my burger. THEN he asked If someone else wanted sauce in their vegetable kebab, they said "yes please" and again he made them feel stupid and said "what sauce, what sauce! We've got loads" in a very rude manner. Then we pay and leave the shop get home after walking home. Open the food, missing a curry sauce (that we were charged for) no salt and vinegar on the food. Poor salad amount on the halloumi we ordered. And a very poor amount of doner meat on my Turkish burger. Again the chilli sauce was forgotten on the veg kebab and I didn't get any ketchup in my burger which I asked for. Again I have never had this issue with the other people that work there, it is just this one gentleman. Very disappointed as the food is normally very delicious and I am a fan of this place. Has made me hesitant to order again.

   Food is good here. It's my go to for fish and chips any evening. They take card, there is normally space to park just opposite and fair prices.

   Being new to the area I first tried this fish bar a month ago not a good experience I'm afraid the first time the fish n chips were cold by the time I got home 2/3mins and the second time yesterday thought I would give it another chance so had a 1 large cod 1 regular chips and 1 med doner according to the menu should have cost 6.50, 2.50 and 6.50 total 15.50 I was charged 17.10 No info that the prices had changed so not sure why I paid an extra 1.60 Many guys behind the counter all speaking in Turkish so couldn't say if they just thought it was worth trying it on as never seen me before. Fish hot this time but soggy I will not be going there again

   First went 3 years ago. Since then everything has gone up by £5. Fish n chips are nice, crispy batter and proper chips with kebabs is way better than those fake chips kebab shops usually serve. Staff are nice enough. But the queuing system is rubbish. I understand phone orders but when someone comes in orders a massive list and they get there's first and all you ordered was kebab meat n chips.

   I’ve waited ten years TEN YEARS okay ? To try a real English fish&chips. Ended in Ampthill pretty much by luck and drive past the place. First I did not understand as it’s called Anpthill Fish Bar but they advertised kebab and burgers. Still went to the net saw some awful and gorgeous reviews. Well I just got one of the best new of my life. Am no expert in fish&chips just heard how it was supposed to taste from an old Kitchen’s nightmare show. Well it tasted how he described it and how I’ve always wished it tasted. Marvelous. Would recommend 100% (Careful if not from England you might find it odd that they ask if you want “only salt” on your fries because they mean salt and vinegar otherwise ^^
