   Staff that check through your bag are rude and obnoxious. You get treated like a baby or a prisoner. Girl that checks you in was really nice but every time I've been to bristows there's bother. Worst heliport I've been to.

   Not the friendliest of staff, adequate is the way to best describe the experience here, their interpretation of certain things leaves a lot to be desired. Very poor understanding of what is and isn't allowed, also at security they obviously think they can make decisions on medication, still not sure when doctors decided to quit their surgeries and start working at the bag search area.

   Shambles of a place, security are a joke, miserable and think they have some sort of authority of you! Yeah right. The rules are pathetic, made me turn all my devices into flight safe mode then asked to switch them off! Doesn’t even make sense! Then took a half open maribou off me and a half open bottle of mouthwash, to top it all off I’m on a fixed wing! Pathetic outfit

   First impressions is good Checkin is a breez & so helpfull Security a knighmare Have never come across such difficult ill mannered people as in this place Just what we need when heading offshore for a 3 wk trip

   Confusing as not clear where to check in. I went to the area I had been asked to go to, only to find that I was to go next door. Tannoy system is poor in Zone B.

   My check in and flight went ok. But same as all other heliports, there are plenty of additional rules and regulations so be sure to familiarize with them before packing and arrival. Take special care for electronics and check if they are allowed for helicopter flight or not.

   If you fancy a helicopter tour of the west coast of Shetland bristow might be your only option. The pre flight security checks has a nostalgic Soviet feel to them, especially if you've foolishly decided to bring any apple products. All use of in flight electronics has been banned so don't expect any photos of your experience. Free water and ear plugs are provided, if your tour is delayed you might score a free bacon roll.
