The recent renovations to the gym make it appear very shiny and nice. However some questionable decisions were made, such as water bags (the worst piece of boxing equipment), placing the Ski-ERGs on the end of an already small sled track (effectively 3 metres shorter than the previous 10m track), only one dip station, and placement of the squat racks right next to the wall (already resulting in damage). It was designed to get more people in and make it so there was always equipment available, but at the cost of not having some equipment useful for actual athletic ability. They also started charging for the soft play, making it both non-viable as a creche and not worth it as a soft play (other places are a little pricier, but significantly larger).

Decent parking although I thought poorly lit for the dark evenings. Open till 10:30pm and everything you want from a well equiped gym, inc. a 25m pool. One star missing for the lack of Swimtag boxes even though the wrist bands are there and the empty stands are placed at the ends of the lanes but the actual hardware to track lenghts and time are missing.

I visited Loddon Valley yesterday(saturday),and me and my wife were extremely pleased with the experience and customer service we received. The front reception and the lady at the cafe, were extremely welcoming, and very polite and cheerful. The cafe was very neat, and the lady was very engaging, and gave us a quick service!! Two young gentlemen at reception, named Jack and another named Emran, bless them both were very amiable and cheerful. Jack provided us with sufficient information, regarding the facilities and the new refurbishment which had taken place at the gym,he was extremely patient and told us everything there was to offer, including prices and extra information which isn’t advertised. Emran provided my wife with a comprehensive tour of the leisure center, detailing the diverse range of classes available and information regarding swimming lessons,my wife was very sold off and will be getting a membership for herself, and our daughter. On the whole, the leisure center is impressive. However, the reason for the 4 star is, the presence of numerous unsupervised children in the gym impacted my experience/view. Implementing a clearer policy regarding gym usage and ensuring consistent staff supervision would significantly improve the environment. The Centre was also notably crowded during my visit. While I am unsure if a maximum occupancy limit is enforced, staff did mention an event was taking place, which may have contributed to the increased volume of users. Perhaps clearer communication about event-related crowding could be beneficial. Overall, seems like a massive upgrade since the last time we came!

Not overly impressed with the equipment. Sauna condition is even worse. I’ve just signed up and moved over from Nuffield, and honestly, I’m feeling a bit of buyer’s remorse. This leisure centre has great potential. The sauna needs a full renovation, the pool needs cleaning, and some of the equipment needs replacing. Also, the flooring in the free weights area needs a thick rubber mat to protect against dropped weights unless the owners don’t mind the floor getting constantly damaged. There’s also a gap in the dumbbell range: it jumps from 40 kg to 50 kg, with nothing in between. The treadmills could use an upgrade too they’re barely hanging on.

Went swimming in the training pool. The pool was cold and wasn't that big. But the kids had fun anyway. Family Changing room units are not big. Clean and tidy. There are hairdryers available. The soft play room is fantastic.quiet big and on 3 levels. Best one I've seen in the club so far.

Great facilities, and very clean and serviceable. But crowded and short of parking spaces when they have an event such as football or basketball. Why do football players need to change in the pool changing rooms? No changing spaces available for swimming at 4pm on Sunday. We had to wait - using some of our paid swimming time. Even the supermarket was short of spaces....

If i could give any stars it would be negative 5! I have never given a review like this but here it goes. My daughter who just turned 4 years old when she joined the swim class, had a very traumatic experience, and as a result I am worried she has completely lost interest in swimming! The very first day my daughter attended. The swimming instructor acted as if we did not exist, He gave the swim cap to the other new kid(white). And just walked away, mind you I was there first and I was infront of the other lady. That's just plain discrimination! The pool is cold and if this is an indoor pool, I believe it should be at least warm for kids. I noticed the female instructors are very rude and disrespectful! In the last swim class my daughter attended. My daughter didn't wear the swim cap because she had rashes and complained of itchiness. A young female (instructor). Walked up to me and told me if there is a fire she wont get my daughter. Who the hell says that to a mother! That same day, she forced put on a poorly tight fitting swim cap on a child's head causing obvious pain and discomfort. This caused the child to cry. No remorse! I just had enough! That day I decided she won't attend any swim class! My daughter always complains" they are not being nice to me". It got so bad she begged me not to take her for swim lessons stating "please mama I don't want to to go, I am scared of the lady" This swim class traumatised my daughter. Swimming classes for my daughter in Loddon Valley is one of the worst decisions I have made in my life!

FREEZING cold family pool my 1 year old was shivering so we had to get out, the changing rooms were so dirty would not recommend! The family changing rooms are also so small could barely fit 2 adults and a baby in.

Car park awful. Lack of family spaces. Parking bays are put in really bad locations on the side of the car park. Priority parking bay for the centre put directly in front of the building opposite where cars are parked which means a tight space to squeeze your car through to get around the car park. Not great when you have a large vehicle. Cars parked in areas where parking is not allowed. The centre should not allow this and not allows customers who go Asda park in the car park. Needs sorting. Not a great experience. Yes there is Asda car park, but surely if you are using the leisure centre you should be able to park there right?

Very rude staff and discriminatory policies! If your kids play badminton, you are not allowed to stand and watch them play safely. If you do that you are literally kicked out of the premises! Nonsense rules for badminton court bookings. The language and the tone used by the staff is something you never see in service industry. You are better off taking membership elsewhere - Reading University, Woodley anywhere else around the area. They all behave well and have better rules.
