Lovely woodland walk with ponds, the cafe here is always nice but can get very busy. The country park itself is a great little place for a small-medium walk. On the park side is a walk suitable for pushchairs with no inclines, and across the car park is one with hills and a nice view, not pushchair friendly, but works for adults and small children.
The forest pools are disgusting. East part of the park stinks with dog poo. The entry's speed bumps are too steep and narrow for low suspension cars so be careful. The road itself is in an appalling condition. The west part is better for walks.
A really lovely spot. I went for the first time to enjoy a peaceful and cool dog walk on a hot day. Sandy, well kept paths, excellent signage so I didnβt get too lost! Part is set aside for nesting birds, so dogs on leads, but a clear sign showed where they could run free again. It was easy to park and not crowded, so we found peace and met some friendly people and dogs along the wayβ¦ and at the top, we had a super view!
Lovely walks and something for everyone. Dog friendly cafe, toilets, picnic benches, kids play area, sports pitch, mini golf and lovely walks with a great view. Quite a few different routes you can take if you're walking, and most of the way we walked was buggy friendly. Dogs under control are welcome off lead, though in the summer months there are some areas (clearly sign posted and can be avoided) where dogs need to be on leads due to ground nesting birds. Plenty of dog poo bins about. If you're after the view point, there are steps, but you can get around that if you need to (though it's a steep hill). We had a nice cuppa from the cafe on our way out to walk, and a cold drink and ice cream when we got back. We will be back.
Beautiful country park. Great for walking the dogs. People are friendly and respectful. Lovely fishing pond in the middle but plenty of space. Free parking, which is a huge bonus in this day and age. There is a play park for the kids and a small picnic area. There is a shop but I believe it is currently closed, soon to be reopened.
Our first visit to Lightwater country park was on a sunny winters day. The tracks were muddy and wet in areas, but this is to be expected. Wear waterproof boots! Each trail is well signposted. The cafe was open but we didn't go in. Toilets were clean. There is a lovely rewarding view after a steep climb up the steps on the purple trail. We could see Ascot & London sights! There is a play area and picnic tables but we didn't use them. Plenty of free parking on site.
Amazing walk lovely scenery and just an all round pleasant day out cafe was a bonus
Was a perfect place to let the children enjoy mini golf, not really a big place but was entertaining and very reasonably priced. Has a nice outdoor play area for the children, a small cafe that serves its purpose. Then two nature trails with amazing scenery. Great place to have a little fun and enjoy the outdoors
Really enjoyed my visit. Bigger walking area than originally realised. Plenty of parking, cafe, small park, toilets very basic but do the job, woodlands were lovely
