Had a lovely stay with my family when visiting Alton Towers. The service (especially the lady at front of house, who was working on the Saturday evening and Sunday morning) was fantastic. So warm and welcoming and genuinely doing all she can to help - can’t stress enough how lovely and kind she was. 100 times better than just visiting a chain hotel!! Fabulous breakfast too, where again FOH were so kind and helpful.

Stayed here last night with my son, as we're spending the weekend at Alton Towers. Cannot praise Mary enough, she will bend over backwards for you. Rooms clean, nice shower, beds comfy enough for one or two nights. Don't expect the Ritz, it's a 3 star hotel and the building is over 200 years old. We would (and probably will) stay here again if we visit the theme park again in future. Thankyou for a lovely stay ☺️

Dirty. There's no excuse for thick dust on a ledge behind the door or for the massive gap in the cracked bath panel. Nice staff, but the room had not been prepared, we saw the biscuits on the refreshing cart going to the room the next morning. Double bed comfy as were the two singles, but they were squeezed into a lower ceiling part, different heights. We were 3 full grown women, the YHA we'd stayed in previously was way better.

Even though the accommodation it's self could do with updating, the staff mainly Mary made our stay amazing she was funny warm and welcoming we had such a good night in the hotel bar with other visitors and Mary never stopped laughing. Next morning she even waiting to say goodbye honestly we would go back on a Saturday night just to see her. When we met other staff next morning all just as friendly thank you for a great visit will be back.

Very friendly helpful staff, able to use the car park but some things were a little grubby and it puts you off a little bit. A shame as the staff were so nice and welcoming.

We didn't stay in the Hotal went to a function there. Clean and tidy, staff very sociable a well stocked bar. We had an enjoyable afternoon..very close to the town and there is a very large public carpark at the back of the Hotel with excess into the Hotal.

Went for afternoon tea and were very well looked after by mine host Rob. Left stuffed with further pre Xmas bookings. Always a pleasure.

Don't do it!!!! Rooms dirty and heating doesn't work was offered a different room but you had to see it to appreciate why it was not a better option!!!! After cleaning a bit and freezing up and down dangerous staircases to reception to complain them not knowing how to give a refund or even if they could or find a radiator key to bleed the radiators that my husband agreed to do the bar was well like walking in to, the 60s working men's club the bed was more creaky than my grans bones and lumpy I didn't dare look at the mattress the carpet was dirty and the one chair in the room was covered in hair. Can't comment on food I didn't dare eat there!!!! don't waste your money !
