I started my sonβs swimming lessons in Winchester just after he turned 3. He had limited experience in the water, and was a bit hesitant (to say the least) in the first few lessons. The staff, especially Chloe and Lydia were excellent with him, firm but patient to help build his confidence and take things at his own pace. My son no looks forward to his lessons and getting into the water and is making good progress. I canβt heap enough praise on the staff.

We've been with Wessex Swim School for a couple of years and both my daughters look forward to their lessons all week. They have both progressed quickly and have so much confidence in the water now. All the staff are really friendly and supportive. When we had to change lesson times, Wessex have been able to do this with relative ease. We used to have lessons with a different provider but the class size was too big (8 per group). I love the fact that there is a maximum of 3 children per class. Can't recommend them enough! Great swim school.

Lydia is a fantastic swimming teacher for my daughter. She is patient and understanding which is just what my daughter needs and she is learning quickly as a result. I thoroughly recommend Lydia to anyone looking to start swimming lessons because she has a lot of experience and is very caring.

Lydia has been fantastic from the start. Our son loves going to lessons and is always so proud of what he achieves, as are we β€οΈ Lydia manages to keep that enthusiasm, but also hone the excitability of a 4 year old into concentrating on learning rather than just jumping in the pool. Not an easy task!

Lydia's coaching skills are truly exceptional, making her an outstanding coach. My son eagerly anticipates his weekly sessions and has developed a strong passion for swimming under her guidance. Thanks to Lydia's expertise, his swimming abilities have shown remarkable improvement.

Highly recommend wessex. My 2 children go weekly. My daughter has Gordon who has brought my daughter on as a much more confident and independent swimmer. My 7 year son who has special needs has Sam. Ben adores Sam and despite having separation anxiety will happily skip off for half an hour with him! Denise has also been really understanding and supportive with Ben and helps transition him well from us to Sam and let's us know if he isn't there and supports Ben when he is unsure Both of my children have come on amazingly well with wessex. Highly recommended

I highly recommend Wessex swim school. We have tried lessons with my daughter (almost 5) twice before which have been a total failure, but in just 4 weeks, she has made so much progress here. The ratio is 1:3 is perfect as they get lots of individual attention and I feel her instructor has a great understanding for what she can do, and how to push her to the next level. I also really like being able to see her progress each week in the online portal.

My daughter has been swimming with the school since April last year and loves it! Her teacher pitches the lesson perfectly in terms of making it fun but also pushing my daughter appropriately when she needs it. We are delighted with the progress she is making and how the classes are run. The only reason its not 5*'s is that the pool can be pretty cold and we did have several weeks when we had different teachers (I presume because of illness) and although understandably it was frustrating. All in all, I would highly recommend the school to others.

Both of my daughters have swimming lessons with Wessex swim school and they love it. Their confidence and competence in the water has improved so much. The small class sizes are great and it means they spend most of the time swimming, not waiting whilst others are swimming! I would and do recommend them to friends.

We have used Wessex for a few years now and have been happy with the service they provide. Our daughter has grown in confidence massively and this is due in a large part to the bond she has with her swimming teacher. Wessex are always happy to listen to and respond to feedback from parents and take comments seriously, putting the child at the centre of what they do. The class sizes are 3 maximum and this means your child gets a decent amount of swimming time per half an hour. You do pay quite a lot for the sessions, but compared to other companies, with bigger class sizes, the cost is reasonable. One annoyance is simply that the changing rooms are pretty grubby, and I'd like to see Wessex insist on this being improved by the school, as I'm guessing it would be down to the school to look after the facilities.
