My son as a nervous swimmer has gained in confidence during his time and really benefitted from the small classes. It was also great for him to be able to start going in without a parent from the age of 3 (with a helper instead).
My daughter has been swimming with Winchester city swimming club since she was two. She loves her swimming lessons and has made huge progress with her confidence and her skills. She has hugely benefited from small groups with teacher and helpers every lesson. Thank you!
Fantastic experience since our son started age 3. He’s made great progress, has fun and has gained so much confidence in the water. Lessons feel great value against other similar ones around and the teachers and pool helpers are really attentive and lessons are very small ratios. The end of term lesson reports are detailed too. Would definitely recommend.
My 8 year old daughter really loves being back at swimming and is always happy to go in for her Sunday lesson. The instructors are all so enthusiastic and kind, and above all patient with my energetic learner! She has also attended the holiday week courses which really help her improve.
We joined Penguins back in 2019, and both my children love their swim squads. They have encouraging and supportive coaches, a great training program and excellent tuition. My children have continued to improve their times, increase their confidence and ultimately Penguins have increased their lifelong love of swimming. Our son has been with Penguins direct from baby paddlers and is now 7. Not only has he progressed through stages and distance he always looks forward to getting to his lessons, even at 8.30 on a Saturday! The teachers are encouraging, clear and fun and the group sizes are small so they are not sat waiting for their turn. The admin team are responsive and how they have adapted in the last year has been amazing. The holiday sessions are fab at getting a good chunk of time in the pool to focus on strokes, technique and have fun. Highly recommended for all levels and now they have baby classes that weren't around when we started at 9 months old!
My daughters learnt to swim initially with another swim school in Winchester. We moved to Penguins as they offered considerably more time in the water swimming as they had a much better teacher to pupil ratio. Although a number of the teaching staff are students at school they have had excellent training and built up a good rapport with my daughters. Penguins concentrate on the 4 main swimming strokes and ensure that technique is preferred over simply swimming distance. The Penguins swim progress reports supplied at the end of each term are well prepared and helpful. My daughters have made considerable progress with their swimming moving from Stage 3 to Stage 6. The swim club has also managed the Covid protocols well. I Thoroughly recommend this swim school.
