8 of us for 5pm dinner , service was pretty poor, restaurant was pretty quiet on arrival so i would have expectedmuch better ,Pasta dishes were cold, all had been liberally dressed with parmesan despite a request not to do so Not what you expect from a reputable chain, all we got was a "Sorry" from the waitress. We will not eat here again
We came in at 12:15 on a Saturday, we had a few kids meals and 4 adult meals. The server was really curteous and the restaurant itself is bright and modern. That was where the good stopped. 1 hour later - at 13:20 we got burnt uneven dough balls. Look at the picture attached - they aren’t even and the edges are burnt. We waited for mains for another 45 mins leaving eventually at 15:30. Pizzas were burnt, no one came to check if we needed anything. Zero hygiene in the kitchen, “chefs” weren’t washing their hands, what looked like a teenager was “chopping” dough. 3 hours of some quick pizzas is shocking. I can’t quite believe they thought it was acceptable - avoid this restaurant.
Went for dinner on a Saturday night and when we arrived there was only 6 tables in the restaurant. We were informed that there was no chicken dishes available and the wait on food would be approximately 45 minutes. The kitchen hadn't prepped the servers with what replacements could be offered and they continually had to go and ask if things could be done. When the food arrived, it was just okay, nothing more nothing less. The other issue I had was that the servers were using random tables to collect empty glasses and side plates on before they were cleared on mass. Not a great operational decision by the manager.
It is a shame because the food tasted ok and the wait staff were very nice, but the hygeine standard was unacceptable! I used the disabled toilet on the ground floor - to get there you need to go past the serving preparation area, kitchen and washing up areas - had i done that before we ordered i would have left without eating there. It was disgusting! There were loads of flies in the toilet - and there were some around our table - and it's mid November! There was rubbish overflowing from the bins onto the floor in the kitchen and washing up areas. The side preparation area was covered with bits of food - it looked like they prepared drinks and desserts there and sprinkled icing sugar, chocolate and other thing over them, and all over the counter tops, and then left it there to build up. I asked to speak the the manager and told him - his first response was that it was busy, then he told me they had 5 stars for hygiene- my response was that they wouldn't have if the inspectors came in at that moment! Then he told me the staff team were new. I said i didn't want excuses, just an acceptance that it wasn't as it should be, which i got with an apology. An hour later, just before leaving, I again visited the toilet - i had expected the manager to have dealt with the issue, but no, there was just more rubbish on the floors, more food on top of what was previously there in the side preparation area, and even more flies in the toilet. So his "acceptance" and apology was just token word to placate a customer. I won't be going back!
Really nice pizza express. Was very quiet when we went and we were the only ones there. Staff were lovely and attentive.
Just wanted to say a massive thank you for making our experience at the Chichester pizza express. We decided to drive from Arundel after a horrible time, at anther restaurant upon the arrival and decided not to use them. When we told the staff at the Chichester pizza express what had happened to us, they went above and beyond to give us the best meal ever. Food was hot, and very tasty. Clean and service was top class. Thank you once again .
I went to Pizza Express today with 2 friends. We were really pleased with the service and the food. Our waitress couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and the pizza and salad were both delicious.Thank you!
It’s a typical chain restaurant with their quick and attentive service but lacking atmosphere. Very child friendly and good for large groups but is always loud and busy. Food is decent and hot but pizzas always come with a bit of grease and oil on top. Great for birthday parties or gatherings but not for pizza lovers!
We didn't get as far as ordering food! Very poor customer service. We were completely ignored when we entered the restaurant, and it wasn't exactly busy! After 10 minutes of waiting fir a member of staff to visit our table, we eventually walked out. At this point, we were finally approached. I explained my reason for leaving. The member of staff explained that a new staff member was being trained & I suggested that Customer Service should surely form part of that training. I was told to "Just go then!" with the male member of staff ushering us out of the door. Needless to say, we won't be back!
