On a nice Thursday evening in Hull we headed to a favourite spot of ours, Humber Street. We have been to Bert’s Pizza restaurant in Hull many times and had various degrees of success, but this was our first visit to Bert’s Pasta. It was amazing! We were welcomed by Jake and shown to a table with great views of Humber Street and the Marina. A bottle of house Red followed along with some house Rosé and we were left to read through the menu. A great variety of dishes on offer meant we took our time deciding but eventually ordered 1 Burrata & 1 Beetroot Carpaccio to start. This was followed by 1 Tagliatelle Alfredo, 1 Beef Pappardelle & 1 Tuscan Chicken Pappardelle along with sides of 1 Broccolini & a portion of Parmesan & Rosemary fries. To dust this all off we had 3 portions of Tiramisu. The flavours in these dishes were amazing and we will definitely be back the next time we visit Hull. Jake was very welcoming, friendly and efficient, thank you.

We had spare time in Hull and stumbled across this place. The food was amazing, some of the best Tortellini I've ever had (something I didn't think I'd say before visiting hull) and the Bread was nicely made. However they're not kidding when they say small plates, if you've worked up a bit of an appetite you'll need to order more than one portion to satisfy your hunger. As delicious as it was a couple hours later we started to feel like we needed another bite to eat. Atmosphere is really pleasant and Dec our server was super nice.

Paid a visit to Bert’s Pasta Bar mid afternoon on a Monday and there were plenty of people eating and enjoying the fabulous food and atmosphere. The interior is really cool with really nice designer furniture and is light, spacious and airy. Both members of staff greeted us very warmly and were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu which had loads of choices of different sized plates. We had the Barata with bread, Halibut steak, seafood pasta, and a really yummy garlic bread. Everything was really good quality and we had a really nice glass of house Chardonnay too. All in all a great experience-you could say the plates are slightly pricey for their size, but the quality on offer is worth the price - we’ll be back for another visit.

Had a fantastic evening in Bert’s tonight. Staff are so welcoming and attentive, the drinks are good, best Bloody Mary I’ve had in years and the tapas was fantastic. Why the hell you’d be vegan and miss out on some of the beautiful offerings is beyond me. Would I go back? Yes! Would I recommend? Definitely!

Disappointing. After having a good experience at Bert’s pizza we tried the pasta bar. My sister ordered the carbonara which was completely tasteless and lukewarm, she sent it back and it was ‘re seasoned’ but came back just tasting of salt. We both tried it and it was inedible. We left with her not eating and me pretty dissatisfied with my own meal. To be fair the staff did take her meal off the bill and comped the drinks which was kind. I left wishing we hadn’t paid for any of it but I didn’t want to be rude. I also understand this is a tapas style menu but 3 prawns for £8 is pretty steep in London never mind Hull. I have noticed that nobody really responds to these reviews so it’s maybe pointless leaving one.

Looked forward to going here as when I last tried to visit they told me they'd just finished serving. Unfortunately, expectations were far from being met. For a start, and this is a big one, none of the plates were warmed so a lot of the food was luke warm at best, which is an odd thing to fall short on. The Burrata was good, but the 'garlic crisps' weren't done fresh and tasted like rotten oil. The garlic bread didn't taste very garlic-y at all, so had to get a pot of balsamic glaze brought to the table yo make it half decent. The salt crystals on it worked well though. The hand caught Devon crab was the most expensive item on the menu, but was the most disappointing - bland and not anywhere near warm enough. The king prawns were good. The waiter was good. Wouldn't go back or take anyone.

We have been here 2 times now and each time expected and hoped for a new result but every time it’s disappointing. It’s a shame considering the very expensive pricing . 9 pounds a plate for a very small portion (3 pieces of pasta) . The pasta had no flavour and was hard like it was undercooked . The first time we went I complained and sent the plate back . I picked the most “popular” on the menu as the waiter recommended and that still came back hard . Very disappointing , will not be coming back or recommending. Only positive is the friendly waiter and nice decor/ location

First time eating here, after trying the other Bert’s restaurants and wasn’t disappointed. Food was great, so much flavour, couldn’t fault anything and fantastic service, will definitely be back.
