Went for a Christmas family meal today (18 of us) Very well managed, not to busy, food was banging and staff where fabulous as they always are! Mega shout out to the two lady's today dealing with our service (blonde and dark hair) You two were absolute stars and very welcoming, never ever had a bad time at the sailmaker. Many thanks to all who served and cooked for us today! ❤️

Gave this pub a try today as we've never been there and wanted a carvery. We managed to book a table. Nice decor , and nice the pub side and dining area is separated. We did enjoy the meal however our only drawback was the roast potatoes sadly :( The meat was good The staff were really friendly!

So this is not the usual kind of review. On the upside 1. My rare steak was properly cooked, not erring on the safe side of medium rare (thanks Rob on the grill). 2. The front of house team are working hard to deliver a a good service in spite of Marstons brewery. On the downside, they seem to be working in a set up that prevents really good customer service, So, Marstons, 1. Sort out your staff training so that the local teams know which line connects to which pump. How can you be running a pub where the only beer I cannot buy is YOUR BEER! I arrived at the Sailmakers at 18.50 and by 21.10 your beer was still off. 2. COVID is over. I worked on the COVID response and I understand the changes to that were needed. However, a pub (in my book) is about social contact and conviviality. It is not about waiting for 15 minutes to be served because your team are prioritising drinks order made via a QR code on your tables. And it is not about one of your staff apologising and saying "I will be right there" when we both know that he has to prioritise the orders spewing out of a till from your app. And people ordering via the QR code is not evidence of preference. It is evidence to that tour customers will simply default to the most efficient way to get served if the alternative is watching your staff prioritising remote orders. In the unlikely event that Marstons senior managers receive a summary of these reviews and act on them, then I look forward to your reply. Otherwise, if you live near the Sailmaker or are staying in the Premier Inn next to it, then support your local pub!

Normaly have no issues. Today however service at the bar good. Food delivered CHIPS Double dipped over cooked. Very oily. No check back at all so couldnt complain and not feeling to good today couldnt deal with the confrontation to be fair. The garlic bread was good. Wifes pi was super crunchy and could of done with hammer to break through. Scampi was wilted and soft not very hot. Chicken staryer was also ok and the pepsi and bottle of water. All in all not a very good customer experience today. Kind of makes me wonder do i return.

Overall was a good experience. 4 star just because of few things Got the drinks but not the kids drinks. So when you have a 3 and a 4 years kid . Staring on you because the don't have they own one's is a little bit annoying. Went on bar all sorted. But the main problem was to pay for a large £15+carvery and to get a very very thin slice of ham/beef and smaller honestly 2/2 inches because was the end of it. And 2 thin slices of turkey..was so thin that the meat broke apart not more then 100gr of meat all together. Yeah you can have as much veg you like . But this is not the point when you want a roast dinner. Most probably the GP on this dish is a nice one for Kitchen Manager. Then was no sauces just gravy. I've ask for some . Mange to have it in 10 min. Again this place have potential could get 5 easily with just a little bit of work. Nice location. Decent prices to.

Good pub in a good location in North Gosport. I had the carvery which has been better, the gammon was lovely but the beef very dry, the roast potatoes needed more time in oven and carrots were dry, overall nice but could be better. Good service from carvery but felt like they were having a bad day in the kitchen and bar staff looked tired.
