Lovely bookshop such friendly staff - can’t believe Jane Austen used to buy her books here!! The blind date book is a great bargain (£3!!) and the books thoughtfully chosen- loving the one I got!

A beautiful building and a wonderfully well stocked bookshop. Friendly staff, a huge variety of stock, and something for everybody.

Beautiful old building housing the oldest bookshop you may ever visit. Helpful staff and all the books you could ever need. Plus, if you can't find what you want, and it's still available, PG Wells can find it for you

The most magnificent bookstore in the city, plenty of history and beauty it's the best place to buy book. When you enter in the store a peaceful, antique and niche atmosphere welcomes you. The staff is super gentle and welcoming. It's one (if not the one) of the oldest bookstores in Hampshire. It is a must visit place.

Really beautiful bookshop with a great selection of titles. I saw both titles I struggle to find in chain stores, and also some stunning editions of classics and favourites. Really a must visit!

The place is always welcoming. It always makes us love books more. The kids' section is so thoughtfully set up, and regularly rearranged, to keep the munchkins coming. Love the ethos which very much emanates.

Superbly curated collection of books. Spent 2 hours here & came away with books for me to read & for the grandchildren from the excellent upstairs childrens' book collection. So much better than Waterstones formulaic shops as a great range of nonfiction books from independent quirky and engaging writers from England & further afield are stocked in abundance here.

There are a few shops that are special, but there are very few that are truly special. P&G Wells is truly special, an absolute gem in Winchester. If you visit Winchester, if you live in Winchester then you must go there, exceptional customer service, excellent product range wrapped up in a little piece of history. Not to be missed

Lovely bookstore with amazing editions I have never seen in bigger stores. Would definitely recommend checking in for both the classics and modern literature

This bookshop was a wonderful find. We stumbled across it trying to hide from a sudden downpour and were instantly charmed. The shop feels like it has been in place forever with aged furniture and a lived in feel while the stock is wide ranging and we'll organised, with the books they feature being very interesting and a little different to highstreet shops. Needless to say we made a few purchases before leaving. Well worth a visit!
