   I was referred to Avenue last year from another service, I had been really anxious about attending and I wasn’t expecting much from the service due to previously being let down by other places but that soon changed when I met Julie and Avenue became a safe space for me. I can’t thank all the staff enough for their kindness and understanding. They made me feel comfortable, safe and welcome each time. At every session Julie made me feel comfortable and safe which allowing me to open up. I could talk or not talk, there was no pressure, I could be honest and open without being judged but most importantly I felt listened too and for that I will be forever grateful.

   I was referred to Avenue by Quarries, cause I'm my husband's full time carer and I have being struggling for quite a long time. It took over 6 months for Avenue to contact me, offering me 6 sessions once a week for 50 minutes over the phone cause it was more convenient for me, as I don't drive. I was assigned a therapist called Julie. After my 1st session, I became sick and I couldn't complete my 2nd sessions. I believe during my 3rd session while I was crying cause I was sick and I had no help to recover, I asked Julie for advice. She said she couldn't give me any advice. So my point from my own experience with this therapy place is, it was a waste of time. The therapist on the phone just feels sorry for you, says nothing that could you or encourage you. It really felt as she says the same things to everyone. Don't waste your time. This service felt the same than when I rang one of those help lines. Avenue offered me no real help. And they sent me an email to ask me to cancel the rest of my sessions, which I accepted as I thought there was no point carrying on.
