We were greeted with a warm welcome and immediately felt comfortable. The staff were knowledgeable, affable and very attentive. The food was excellent and I can genuinely say it was the best curry I have had on the Isle of Wight.
A favourite from the late 1990s, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the Bahar are still the number one curry house for Cowes residents. Great traditional Indian cuisine, staff were knowledgeable and assisted us with picking some delicious dishes. Don't forget to BYOB ahead of your booking and get down to the Bahar!
On the 10th day of Christmas Bahar served to me: 10 popadums, 9 onion bhajis, 8 garlic naan, 7 saag paneer, 6 Lamb Sylheti, 5 pilau rice!!! 4 Tarka Dahl, 3 king prawn, 2 Naga Chicken and Partridge in a balti! Great Christmas feast it was too! Don't forget to BYO cobra
Good value, tasty Indian. No issues whatsoever. Be aware that it's not licenced so you can bring your own alcohol. Also, I did actually need to send my meal back initially because it wasn't spicy in the slightest even though I'd made the effort of checking before I ordered and was assured that medium really was medium . So, a little bit irritated with that. Even so, I'd return

Absolutely Stunning! We came here for my dad's birthday we got the Kurzi Lamb between 4 of us and it was so good. Each bite was full of incredible flavour and presentation was amazing too. Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We will be returning again *New Visit* We came for my Brothers Birthday once again stunning food. We love this place really happy every time we come.
We came from London so were used to good south-Asian food, but this place was definitely amongst the best I’ve been to. All food is prepared fresh to order which is very obvious, and everything from the starters, mains, sauces and bread are amazing. Owners/staff are also very friendly. You would not be disappointed if you’re looking for authentic flavours
