   Stopped by here for dinner with my partner. Very much the standard fish and chip shop menu with a few extra. Ordered the large haddock and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce. Overall food quality was good, found the batter on the fish slightly oily buts that a niggle. Curry sauce and peas were both excellent as was the two deserts we had. Staff were top quality for service, and pricing was reasonable. In most parts of the country this place would top quality, but in East Yorkshire just good. Will likely return as location is good for us.

   Really good chippy! Reasonable prices too. Just went to the takeaway as warm night so chips outside is fine. Battered sausage and chips was just over £5, chips were excellent not greasy but fluffy inside. Batter on sausage also tasted great without being too greasy as well.

   We live on the south coast, and come up to Hull 3 times a year for the last 8 or 9 years, and EVERY trip without fail we come here first on arrival, and you have to ask yourself why. The simple answer is because its just that good, compared to my local chip shops who charge double for portions half the size, papas has NEVER disappointed, and this evening whilst there and server by the wonderful Annie, we came to the realistation, that our trips to Hull may end this year...... oh no! You know what, i would make the 270 mile each way trip just so i can still eat here, yes its that good. The chips are golden brown and crunchy, the fish is lovely, battered enough to be crunchy, tasty but none of it is greasy, its all light, golden and delicious. The staff are friendly - all of them, but Annie is great. Plenty of parking, plenty of customers - another good sign.

   One of the best fish and chips I've tasted recently. They claim that this is one of the biggest shops in the world. Anyway there is plenty of parking. Seating is available inside and outside. There is also a fish and chip museum. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to visit it. The fish and chips is good value for money. I have a good appetite, and even I was satisfied. The curry sauce is very tasty. The sides are more value if you buy a combo meal. Not sure if the sides are worth it if you buy them separately. Staff are very friendly. As well as takeaway there is an attached restaurant. As always this was my experience and YMMV.

   Lovely meal and good value for money with plenty of choices on menu. Was full after main course but still managed dessert which was amazing. Brownie and ice-cream, jam sponge and custard and donuts with ice-cream were all delicious. Great friendly service too.

   The best fish & chips in the UK! Excellent service by Suzy and Danielle and their efforts to make guests happy were exceptional. They even made a lifelong dream possible by frying up some mars bars as a delicious dessert although they are not on the menu anymore. Absolut must go to Restaurant for locals and tourists! Thanks to Suzy and Danielle and we will definitely return.

   The food was amazing! The fish is not too oily and the place is cozy! I wasn't able to finish my portion of large fish n chips so they gave us boxes to put our leftovers. Front desk is lovely and service is fab.

   Great fast service and they even fry specially in vegetable oil rather than beef dripping if preferred. Polite staff and popular. Only downside is the 3 flights of stairs to the high seating area..but will be back

   The fact they clearly identify GF on the menu is always a huge winner for me.....they understand Coeliac's and allergens and I trust them. I ordered a medium haddock and chips with mushy peas. The batter is so light and tasty, fish was beautifully cooked and I enjoyed every mouthful. Our server today was one very happy Libby, she never stopped smiling and was very professional, an absolute delight.... Great customer service. I haven't been here since between lockdowns and it's so reasonably priced, my meal was £8.99 plus drinks. My mum opted for the Senior Special £8.99 and that includes a pudding too. See you all next time!
