   Popped into Flannels Chichester to get a gift for a friend. Went to pay and I was told that they only do exchange or credit note. I asked if I could have a gift receipt and that was not possible either. Went ahead and paid for the expensive t shirt as it was a specific colour that I wanted. As I walked to the exit the lady guarding the door who I assumed looked like management, I mentioned that I was not pleased with their returns policy and that I could not even have a gift receipt. She informed me that was not correct. She questioned me if I had asked for a gift receipt PRIOR to payment and I assured her that I did. She then said that she will have to reprocess the receipt for a gift receipt. I was marched to the back of the store tills. Obviously not trusting my words she rechecked with the junior staff in my presence if I had asked for a gift receipt PRIOR to payment and he declared that I did but that he did not know it could be done. Obviously not trusting my confirmation, she was totally reassuring her staff several times that he was ok not to know but at no time did she bother to apologise to me for her staff getting his facts wrong and refusing my request for a gift receipt. Both parties need a bit more customer service training.

   I visited Flannels Chichester today with an issue regarding a previous purchase. I spoke with the manager, who was professional, approachable, and extremely helpful in resolving my concerns. The service was excellent, and I left feeling very satisfied. A big thank you and well done to the Chichester team for turning my experience into a positive one.

   Sadly not the best. Went in today with my boys and the staff are pretty bad. They think cause they work there, they live the lifestyle of their customers. You don't, you work in retail, do that well which is why you're there. Not all their shops are like this, shopped in a few and most are pretty good. My boys liked it, the stock is good and the sale was pretty good too, but... The staff..... I work in the luxury market and I wouldn't employ any of them for anything. Poor, 2 stars in generous.

   Small store compared to other Flannels but they have a great selection, especially for menswear. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. I highly recommend if you're looking to buy some quality clothing.

   In my view they need to adjust their stock for the Chi crowd. Some good labels but many items' fabric quality is on par or worse than H&M next door. When your stuff is £200 in the sale and theirs £20 full price, you've got a problem.

   A shop I'll avoid shopping in again. Though they pretend to be an upmarket 'luxury retailer' their customer service is on par with the worst. Staff are of little help and the manager pretends to want to be helpful but really is not.
