   Tills are very chaotic since they changed many years ago to self-service. It is very difficult for mothers with prams for others to get by to either be served or to leave the store. Gets 4 stars due to bargins and choice.

   Nice enough store, when asked for advice on childs sizing as to whether age 8 meant 7-8 or 8-9 I was advised they weren't sure and that they wouldn't like to advise me incorrectly. As such I ended up going to asda next door where the sizing is actually clear and the staff seem to actually know about their products!

   Serving local environment well. Large store with lots of different clothes options. Nicely organised into different sections by gender and age. Lots of home and kitchen furniture and design available. Self-paying tills, workers available to help if stuck. Wheelchair accessible parking and entrance are available. Sales section available. Frequent sales in-store

   Matalan are a joke! 2 weeks after ordering a click and collect i still haven't had my order. Trying to get hold of someone in customer service is almost impossible. They don't reply to emails and there is no phone number on the website. Also took 2 days to reply on messenger. Definitely won't be using them again. Also still waiting for my refund!

   Several tills for self service card only. 2 tills for cash only. Big que in cash only which I had to join for return. 1 customer came to self service and couldn't operate. When 1 of cash ladies finished she went immediately to help him. Leaving some of us who had been queuing waiting even longer. I commented on this at till and retort was well that's her job anyway. I asked if the other items not returned on my receipt could be put on my card as I did not have it on purchase. Was told no you don't get points anyway. Needless to say I did make further purchases on refund. By the time I went to pay a lady was on duty helping card payments, which have to be self service. It's not customer friendly Matakan. Get more staff.
