This was my go to place twice a week as they had fantastic cheff specials. For under 5 pounds you'd get a full blown meal that would set your brain to sleep mode. Sadly they've decided to go the way of the tapas. I have no clue why tapas at a university canteen is seen as a good thing but it is what it is.
They still offer amaazing omelets which I will return for. Also very awesome friendly staff.

I have eaten several breakfast menus here for two weeks and am satisfied with its quality generally and I like this place much. But I think I need to say something for better services. 1. Sometimes, the menus are not those that I have ordered! So far, 3 times for 5 orders but this might be partially my problems. For example, they served "bacon" also for just ordering "baked beans" in Jacket tomatoes, "bacon" in stead of "hashi brown" in breakfast butty, "lighter breakfast" in stead of "healthy breakfast". I replaced only once the last case but I haven't tell them for other cases since they looked quite busy.
Another comment is that sometimes the toasts are baked too much as can be seen (dark edges) in the photos. I think properly baked toasts without black parts may be better and improve the quality of cooking.
Otherwise, the kindness of staffs and resonable prices would be quite good and I am happy to come here again as far as I stay here Portsmouth Univ. I mentioned this just to improve the service of this lovely place !
PS: Today, I first ate an Americano coffee and I found that it 's really great taste !

A great place for lunch, especially if you are University staff. It is a hidden gem and not many students know about it. The food is of great quality and the staff there are very friendly. They offer different chef special every day! The place looks brand new after the recent refurbishment. Definitely recommend it!
