   I’m only giving one star because I have to. This used to be such a great shop, what a shame. Bought a very nice and very expensive Paul Smith gilet only to discover part of the stitching on the back was defective. Returned to the store to either exchange or refund to be told it’s “not their policy” to exchange and I can’t get a refund. The seemingly incompetent assistant manager then tells me that they first have to get it repaired however this is something I have to do on my own time and proceeded to give me a number that ‘I’ can call!! So I’m sold defective goods and this is now my problem??? For what seems to be an already very quiet store you really need to rethink your policies and customer service as this kind of service is simply unacceptable. I always liked to support local businesses wherever I can but there’s another I sadly won’t be returning to.

   Great shop, great stock but staff seem to have no comprehension that we still need to keep distance due to covid. Totally unacceptable, I saved up for vivienne Westwood bag but walked out empty handed. Not worth dying for!

   It's great to have a shop like this in Yarm - and rare to have a choice of so many stylish clothes and designer brands in a small market town. The House is a great place for shopping but I really like to visit the cafe for lunch or a coffee. There is also a hairdressers upstairs so it caters for a lot of different services overall. If you come to Yarm for a day out then you're more than likely to visit the House. Recommended!
