   Food and service exemplary. We visited on a Saturday evening and returned the next day for Sunday roast at lunchtime, with dog in tow. Our server, Mandy, on both occasions, couldn't have been more helpful and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble; taking our requests for both drinks and food as and when, bringing them direct to the table. Would highly recommend. Thanks to Mandy and the whole team.    Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing meal. After making the food selection (Guinness crumble) I was informed they had ‘run out’ of that choice (this was to become a theme). So I went for the second option of meat platter. This was served with the most burnt Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever seen. I said it was inedible (which the server agreed (so why serve it?)) and asked for a replacement only to be informed ’they had run out’. The meal had obviously been cooked hours beforehand and kept warm, the potatoes and stuffing balls were very firm. I asked for some horseradish sauce only to be told ‘they had run out’ (they did find a teaspoons worth). Fresh Yorkshire puddings were later brought out but we had finished our meal by then. The waitress kept apologising but tried to reassure her that it wasn’t her fault. The meal was towards the end of the day but still well within the restaurant hours.

   The food was outstanding—my brother-in-law even said it was one of the best meals he’s ever had. The beer was exceptional, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming. A fantastic experience all round. Highly recommended.

   We had already visited for a drink during a walk along Hayling seafront and whilst there we looked at GF offerings. On the basis of those we returned for an evening meal to belatedly celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were not disappointed. Excellent food, exceptional service and although in the upper price bracket, well worth it. Staff were amazing, the locals were just lovely, which as visitors, means so much. If you are down on Hayling, make sure you pop in here, you won’t be disappointed. Cannot recommend enough.

   Went into this lovely pub for evening meal with my husband, mother and dog. The service was fantastic and Holly and Mandy were so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to cater our needs. The food was 100 percent perfect. No complaints at all. Filling, cooked perfect and we will definitely return

   Visited again today, 25th September, whilst spending a couple of nights away on the island. Both occasions that we visted, the staff were all incredibly friendly, welcoming and professional. We popped in for lunch on Saturday, received a warm welcome and lunch was good. Decided to make the most of the September sunshine and had a lovely Sunday Lunch in the garden. All of the staff were so very welcoming. Two lads and a lady were on and you honestly couldn't fault the service. Definitely an asset to the Pub, in addition to the amazing food. Thanks.
