The store is big enough to find whatever you need—unfortunately, you’ll also find customer care that makes you wonder if you accidentally walked into a funeral. Smiles must be on backorder, because the staff at the till looked like they’d rather you left the shop (and maybe the planet). Great products, terrible attitude.

Shop itself is a generic toy shop, the staff allow children to play with items which I appreciate as means I can see what my daughter likes. The till layout is a bit strange but it's never been hugely busy when I have visited so no issues. As for the chain itself, I appreciate the free delivery for items over a certain price, the prices of things are very competitive and I've once had reason to contact customer support due to my own mistake with an order and found them very helpful.

Very terrible experience in this Smyths. Went up from Dublin to Newry for the pokemon cards. Called before to confirm if it's in stock and was also told that it's 1 PER CUSTOMER. Arrived with 5 friends and was told I was able to buy only 1. Spoke to manager Nichole, and was told that is unfair to just sell us 5 packs because we somehow we are from same household ( that she assumed ) and that we came in the same car. What was unfair was that I was told 1 per customer that is why we drove for 2 hours to go up. After a long conversation, was only able to buy 3 packs even though we came with 5 people and the sign even stated that it's 1 PER CUSTOMER. Also found out later that we were meant to get a free pokemon card each if we spent at least £14.99 on Pokémon items, when we spent £25 each You are better off just go in and queue up 1 by 1 to buy and pretend not to know each other. Maybe then you might be able to get 1 each. Disgraceful. It really just ruined our day, we were looking forward to get our new set of cards for our collection. These card are very hard to get due to its limitation, now we are missing out on the 2 packs that we rightfully should've gotten and we have to share 3 packs between ourselves. The store policy advertised 1 per customer which is false advertising and breaches consumer protection laws. 2 people were unlawfully refused the right to be able to purchase a box because Nichole deemed we were not valid customers. Very tempting to contact solicitor to talk about how we were unlawfully discriminated and false advertised both on the phone and in store. You are a toy store not some sort of custom security. Really disappointed at the service and how it was handle.

I have been there before and got so many Xmas presents

Magical place for kids. Great range of toys .Really helpful and very pleasant staff . Only gripe is--------- they sell loads of footballs etc but don't stock the cheap little needle device which is needed to keep the balls inflated. Everyone purchasing an inflatable ball should really be offered one. Cost a few pence to make. Easy profit. Come on management!

Definitely the worst Smyths store I have been in. Staff are unhelpful and quite clearly don't want to be there. Just a little too much attitude for my liking. I visited against my better judgement due to poor past experience but decided to do a click and collect order for convenience as it's my closest store but when I was given the large expensive box of Lego, the box looked like it had been kicked around the store a few times! I asked for a replacement but there were no more. I was unsure what to do as it was for a present but staff member said he couldn't see the issue as the box will go into the bin anyway?! Such a shame as find the staff in other branches SO pleasant and helpful! Definitely wouldn't recommend! Will just travel further in the future!

It's like Santa's warehouse all the toys you can imagine all the staff are so helpful and kind!

Nasty attitude from some of the staff in there. My 12 year old asked if he could have a display box that was destined for their dumpster and he got the typical mealy mouthed refusal. I expected it but didnt want to crush his optimism so let him ask. Their mean spiritedness resulted in me walking out and not purchasing a £70 gift. Oh well thats their loss. I'll be avoiding for the Christmas shopping too.
