   I’m putting 5 stars to get seen. I really enjoyed my visit today with Nisha. However, instead of being charged the quote I was given, £50. I was charged £75. As I rely on PIP and Universal Credit, I will only be using Hair On West Street when my usual hairdresser is fully booked and I am absolutely desperate. It’s really not good enough to not be clear with your prices. As a business graduate, I can tell you it’s not good business to increase the price after giving a quote.

   My third visit and I was so disappointed when I got to the till to find out that instead of the £132 I’d been charged previously for a half head and cut & finish, I’d also been charged for a product that I hadn’t asked for and didn’t know I’d had! The total was £160. I really like the stylist so tipped her as usual (but not as much), but can’t emphasise enough that’s it’s not OK to add extras on without asking the customer if they want them first. The sad thing is that if I’d been asked I probably would have said yes, but I wasn’t. Salon owner take note - if you want repeat customers then you need to be up front and honest with your charging. Slipping extras under the radar is not acceptable. Update 24/06/25 - thank you for your response. I have emailed you separately to explain that my previous appointment that you refer to was for a full head of highlights (not a half head) which is why it came to £144.00. It was my appointment in February that was a half head, cut & finish (using the premium bleach with beeswax) which came to £132.00. So my confusion is why I was charged £160 this time for exactly the same service & products as I had in February. The stylist’s skill is not in question here - she did an excellent job - it is purely the discrepancy in pricing.

   I love going to this salon. The staff are welcoming and friendly for walking in the door to leaving. Gemma has been very supportive when I was having health issues that could have affected my hair. She is also a fantastic stylist. I am so pleased I found this hairdressers when we moved to Chichester.

   The hairdresser was lovely, however I was a bit annoyed to find out I’d be charged for a full haircut even though I only had a wash and blow dry! I did ask the hairdresser if she could take a small bit of bulk out of my hair (I have really thick hair) she mentioned it seemed thick in the middle. Why I was charged for a full haircut I don’t know! Seems a rip off considering it literally took her 2 seconds to do! An extra £20 for that?? I wouldn’t have minded an extra £5 or so because I did ask for it on top. My hair also did not go very long before it was frizzy again, wish I didn’t bother to be honest.

   Our granddaughter had a peek a boo hair dye it was her first experience of having her hair dyed and wasn't sure if it was exactly what she wanted we went back the next day and they sorted it at no extra charge. Very impressed Lauren you did a grand job she loves it now.xx

   I had a cut and finish with Gemma and I’m so pleased with it! She really listened to what I wanted and took a lot of care over it. The shampoo also smells lovely! Will definitely go back.
