   Worst experience at a salon I’ve had for £140. Back where I’m from we call it getting bumped. (Stolen from). No finesse whatsoever. Completely rushed, I was so upset because I could’ve done it myself and neatly. It already looks old and the picture is my first day with the braids. The owner wasn’t kind at all. Beware, she’s not a fan of Nigerians (as her coworker expressed and I had already acknowledged with the way she was talking to me in such a patronising and degrading way from the minute I walked in). Even when communicating through WhatsApp about ways I could possibly lower the price from £140, I suggested helping finishing off the braids (as a person who professionally does hair myself) and because that took her by surprise, she decided to ignore me. Which she had admitted in the shop “Why would I respond to something like that?” And her coworker laughed. There was also a moment in the shop that I won’t forget, It was actually quite triggering; I told the lady doing my hair that the right edge of my head is very sensitive, so please go easy, she didn’t, and as I was squealing she told me to cry “ehn cry now” and as a fellow Nigerian, I understood that was her not giving a toss. Mind you, the owner started being nice to me at the end when I paid of course, one would smile after essentially robbing a young black woman who you already preplanned to dislike. What a shame. What kept me there was the urgency, I needed it done for Monday and was hopeful that I would get the same treatment as her other clients on google photos for Julia’s hair shop. I will be redoing my hair real soon.

   Lovely lady Julia. Booked easily via WhatsApp Julia was ready and waiting on time. No double bookings (which I have had before with other braiders). Helped with extension colour selection. Braids are lovely and light (without any pain at roots) Box braids all done in around 3 hours. Lovely chat. I highly recommended.

   This was definitely the best place I have ever had my afro hair done. First off, there was no pain even though my scalp is weirdly sensitive. The customer service was delightful, and I felt very comfortable throughout the process!! I will definitely go here again and recommend Julia hair salon 100%

   Terrible outcome, Went to get my hair relaxed, my scalp for burnt so badly, took a month to heal. My hair was broken, had to cut it all off! Very annoyed, will never use her again.
