For a cooked dinner, take a leaf out of the Wilmington Cafe book. There, it is not as costly (£7.95 for full cooked meal and Tea) Vegetables do not come out of a can. 2 Ice cream scoops of mash? I'm sorry to say that the next visit for me will be for a cup of tea only.
Super lunch at a very reasonable price, the staff are very helpful, especially as i cannot get into the cafe due to being in a wheelchair. Sat at one of the outside tables and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Couldn't of asked for a nicer experience. Food, staff and the cafe itself, for me, was perfect! Food was just like Mum used to make, home made, good portion, well presented and tasted amazing! Will definitely be going back! Full marks!

Great little cafe. Some homecooked meals. Very well priced. It's nice to have a treat without being ripped off. Gorgeous hot chocolate, children's mini panda pops and a good selection of food. Very nice staff.
How refreshing to have brunch without an avocado in sight! My boyfriend treated me to a romantic breakfast for two in this classic British cafe. What a refreshing establishment in which to grab a Full English. In the mid-morning the way the light falls through the Paragon Arcade is glorious and golden, the large windows in The Coffee House allow you to soak up a transformative glow. The place is decorated in an un-fussy, no-frills style with the walls a bright, crisp green (ironically the colour of avocados). Everything is very clean but there is no overpriced artwork or yuppee-fied, pseudo-vintage upholstery. The Full English does what it says on the tin: sausage, bacon, beans, fried egg, toast with optional extras of mushrooms, hash brown black pudding and tomato. Everything is ready to go so served very quickly and exquisitely cooked (the one exception being a slightly undercooked hash-brown, although my boyfriend assures me the last time he went he had no such issues). I would like to make a special mention to the fresh and buttered thick slice of tiger crust toast - what a wonderful item for the restaurant not to scrimp on! Also welcome was the very reasonable pricing - 4 or 5 pounds for a generous portion. No overpriced bougy brunch options here. The staff are friendly and attentive without being needy. I would like to make cases for two slight improvements which could be made. Firstly, they do not seem to offer orange (or even apple) juice and secondly their coffee is made from those little pods rather than a coffee machine, which I thought was a little disappointing from somewhere called the coffee cup. Aside from this it was excellent. In these times it also feels important to mention that despite being nicely busy throughout the morning I felt the place was covid-secure in a sensible way, with the menu being written on boards and everyone being comfortably spaced out. I can't wait to return, thank you.
Discovered The Coffee Cup on a recent three day visit to Hull and I was very glad that I did. Had a lunch and two breakfasts there. Hearty and home cooked fare. Real comfort food and fantastic value. Loved it.
on a saturday: breckfast till 1130, very well cooked, also we noticed a good variety of cooked dinners which also looked very well cooked and tasty. very clean, staff were polite, very well priced (not expencive)
