Quality produce and believe or not to prices on most things were equal to other stores and some even better. Must praise the staff who were very helpful. Well done Waitrose

Parking rules have changed. No clear signs about changes in car park. From online search appears started 17.12.2025. From online search appears no longer free for 2hrs for Waitrose customers. I visited at 7pm 20th. Car park pitch black & raining. Lady on till didn't ask if I knew rules had changed from 17th. I was, until now, a regular Waitrose shopper. The one thing that drives me nuts is supermarkets with confusing parking rules. Sainsbury's in Farlington has nice simple parking. Will go there in future.

The customer service here is outstanding: consequently, it is always a pleasure to visit the store. Some of the prices inside are on the high side, though there are some good deals to be had (especially towards the end of the day). The store is light and airy, with clear signage in individual aisles. There is a large car park outside too, though be warned, some of the spaces are quite narrow.

Waitrose in Southsea is essentially your fancy supermarket, but it mostly lives up to the hype. If you're after something a bit special—think amazing meat and fish counters or that hard-to-find gourmet cheese—this is where you go. Their product range is brilliant and their own-brand stuff is usually top-notch. The absolute best part, especially for this area, is the free parking. Seriously, it’s a lifesaver. The staff, or "Partners," are generally friendly and helpful, so getting service isn't usually a drama. The downsides? It's Waitrose, so it's expensive. You know that going in. Also, if you've been recently, you'll know it's had a few rough patches. They've been doing a load of work on the place, so things like the store layout and availability can be a bit messy and frustrating right now. Once the revamp is done, hopefully, it'll be back to its usual, posh-but-perfect self. Bottom line: Go here for quality treats and an easy park, but don't expect a budget shop.

Waitrose Southsea, located on Marmion Road in Portsmouth, enjoys a prime position in the heart of Southsea. It’s easily accessible on foot, by car, or via public transport, with convenient parking available. This makes it a popular stop for both quick visits and full grocery runs. The store is well-regarded for its clean, organised layout and friendly staff who consistently deliver excellent customer service. It offers a calm shopping experience, even during busier hours. Additional services like assisted shopping and carry-to-car support make it user-friendly for all customers. In terms of variety, Waitrose Southsea features a wide range of fresh produce, quality meats, baked goods, and household essentials. The “Essential Waitrose” range offers great value, while the store also caters to more premium tastes with artisan and specialty products. It’s a trusted supermarket that reliably serves the Southsea community with quality and care.

Lovely, light store with friendly helpful staff. Only puzzling thing is the location of some foodstuffs - I.e. dried fruit in two places!

What i found in Waitrose is that their staff are so helpful, and particularly in this branch, and this month(Nov 2022). I asked a lady fulling shelves with cap, wearing shorts where seaweed crackers were and found them(aswell as seaweed thins!)-very helpful,as my brain injuries make shopping stressful. Also a young lady filling shelves looked up something on her phone, and was really helpful.

Always pleasant staff BUT many products not available fresh bread and even when it is available largely sourdough (not my go to) dishwasher salt, my brand of cat Food. The selection of fruit and vegetables limited/disappointing. BUT fresh fish, meat and cheese counter a good reason to keep shopping here.

They only care about car drivers. Cyclists and pedestrians cannot enter from Marmion Road. The store is a depressing mess and is covered in graffiti. Very sad to see it decline. Surely they can allow one way entry like they did many years ago. I can understand entry and exit from Marmion Road is a security risk from a theft point of view, so simply implement a one way system for those that want to arrive on foot or by bicycle.
