Lovely pub when it is open, my favourite in Hull, but I struggle to find it open despite the advertised opening times. Shame.
First time I've been here, and it's under new management. Really friendly staff, good beer. Will definitely go again.
Great drinks, cheap proper pub in the city, great staff and customers. Left my phone and was handed to staff straight away. Lovely experience
We went there to have a drink as we previously did in the past. Julie was not there. Instead, there was another lady behind the bar who, once the 4 of us came in she " mouted what we about" as we were 4 black people. 3 of us sat, and 1 went to the bathroom. She came over, not even a hello. It was straight. WHAT you having. Being that we saw her reaction before I told her, give us a minute, and I kindly said it's not the first time we came in here she boldly said well it's the first time she saw us. I then said Julie knows us the Caribbean group. Then we asked who is the manager, she said Julie, and my husband asked who was above Julie, thinking that Lee was still there she said boldly again well he is not there he has been long gone. You could clearly see that she was not happy because we are black.. in this day and age, there are still racist people out there . She attempted to call Julie, but we left because she totally changed the mood . We came with a friend visiting and we talked so good about this place and to come and experience this was horrible. If I had Julie's number, I would have called her. We are not begging anyone for anything free . One of the customers told her we don't have an attitude, but she till said yes we do. Julie, you know us, and we are not problem people. All we do is come and enjoy yourself like any other person.
A real TARDIS of a pub. It looks tiny from the outside but it goes back a long way. A traditional unspoilt pub. It doesn't seem to have changed much since I used to come here back in the 1970s.

Only a small pub but atmosphere is great and beer first class the landlord a very friendly guy and told us about some weird things that happen in the pub ! Would defo go in again !
Very comfortable, excellent service, price's very cheap,in fact, wouldn't be surprised to find, it's one of the cheapest pubs in Hull,also very clean,it has been a long time since i used it,i was a seaman and used it regular in the sixties,will be back!!!
