    Just want to thank sue and maggie for helping me do my dads wake. The food and atmosphere was great(given it was a wake) we sang on the karaoke and danced away. I really want to thank you both, it was stress free and we all really enjoyed the day. Will 100% be booking again xx

    The red lion is a former moors and Robson built in 1939, then a bass pub. A nice traditional street corner pub it sells a range of good priced beers and lagers, but no cask conditioned real ale, probably because it is not open every day. Friendly welcolming staff worth a visit. Check opening times.

    This pub is such an entertainer, It has karaoke on Fri, Sat, sunday And lovely people that drop in, u will bump into someone you haven't seen in yrs, it is so friendly you will want to go back again They do a Pensioners day 3rd Tuesday of a mth which they sing dance eat, and some say, "it's the best part of thier life that day, so friendly we're treated like family" The landladies Maggie and sue, will do anything for you with no trouble at all, their aim is walk in, get served have chat and walk out happy with new friends it's that easy Bar staff are lovely too, nothing is a problem It's been a local to many people over the yrs and will continue to Only thing left to say is ......     Absolutely crackin little pub and a proper community pub it is. Outstanding entertainment Dale is the best compare I've ever seen and Maggie is so lovely you feel part of the family that's Maggie for you. Then there's Katie so funny but very attentive i adore this ACE pub from the traditional decor to the warm staff not to mention the entertainment and Awsome music it has everything you need for that fab night out.
