August 5th Monday-Friday 2025 5 night activity camp Review from my 9 year old son One of the female leaders were mimicking and taking the mickey out of the children making one of the boys cry. Other leaders were approachable and friendly. The toilets were not cleaned regularly as there were loads of cob webs and spiders, no light for when dark. The teenage girls were howling at night which meant sleeping was usually disturbed and there were spider nests near tents and not good for people who do not like spiders All activities were fun and the food was good.

I was quite anxious about my daughter’s first summer camp experience, especially as she had never stayed overnight before — let alone in a tent. The plan was to bring her home each night, perhaps allowing her to stay just the very last night as a little adventure. But when I came to collect her after that first evening, I found a child who was absolutely happy, confident, and self-determined. From then on, she insisted on staying — and in the end she spent every night at camp except the very first. Her willingness was a real surprise, and the only real issue was persuading myself to let go. The atmosphere at the camp was wonderful — warm, simple, and refreshingly straightforward — and it was clear that this simplicity is exactly what allows the children to flourish. The attitude among the children, junior leaders, and senior staff was relaxed and respectful, creating a setting where even the youngest could feel comfortable and included. Catherine and David, as the heart of the camp, were always present, approachable, and ready to answer any concerns. Their quiet confidence and 23 years of experience were felt in everything: the gentle structure, the way the staff connected with the children, and the balance of freedom with safety. It was an enriching, confidence-building experience, and I couldn’t have wished for a better introduction to camp life. We are truly grateful to Catherine, David, and their team for creating such a nurturing place. I wish them all the very best, and we are definitely looking forward to returning next year. They really do understand what makes children healthy, confident, and happy — even if that means being wet and barefoot all day.

I started going to Wickedly Wonderful at the age of 7, and it was the highlight of all my summers. All of my best childhood memories are from the summers I spent at this camp, and I learnt so many cool skills from kayaking to sailing to horse riding. The evenings spent at the beach playing games and telling stories around the campfire with marshmallows were my absolute favourite and I was so lucky to have this experience growing up! It’s such a fun, friendly and welcoming environment. I truly recommend this camp to any parents looking for a brilliant (screen free) summer camp for their kids this summer!

I only dealt with Catherine who I believe runs the camp. At first Catherine was pretty great in answering all my queries, sharing additional photos of the camp, and being pretty responsive via phone or WhatsApp. As I had some concerns on the weather and facilities available for the kids to stay dry and entertained, she quickly put my mind to rest and even suggested to fully refund the fees if we have any doubts. Unfortunately, we had a family emergency a week before the start of the camp and had to fly out abroad immediately. That's when all went south. I notified Catherine right away, and asked if we could join the camp later in the summer. She said she'd get in touch to discuss - she never did.. that's where the chase started. Once I managed to get hold of Catherine, she was quite apologetic and understanding, and at that time agreed to refund the fee in full. We would only need to wait until accounts have been sorted. The chase continued for weeks and months to find out that they had financial issues, and are waiting for parents to pay fees from the summer just gone etc etc, and could not refund any money, or come to any other mutual agreement. After another few months of chase, Catherine did not blame the account or financial difficulties, she simply refused to refund in full/part or offer a discounted space in the camp this summer, no willingness to come to a mutual agreement, no human compassion. Six months of unanswered calls, ignored emails and text messages, various lies and deceive. Highly dissapointed in how the matters were handled. Perhaps, some have had a great experience and their children loved their time at the camp. But be vary if life throws difficulties at you, Catherine won't have no compassion for you and will only look out for her own interests.

My girls attended this camp and returned the year after, it was so much fun. I was worried they won't get along with the other kids, but they were so busy interacting it was impossible to make them call me. It was very well organized, lots of outdoor activities. You get a different cocktail of british / foreign kids, depending on vacation date. Lucky are the kids to have this as childhood experience
