Awful experience. I have been going to solo Hair for a couple of years now but I am very disappointed with the experience I have had recently. Billy the Hairdresser would cancel my appointments at the last minute because he will have to "wait around for my appointment" simply because he had had some other cancellations. Screenshot attached. This has happened a couple of times. Very unprofessional. Next he would book me in for a Hair cut and colour and then say that he can't do the colour because he has got other customers. In general not a very friendly salon and very poor service to visit. Very disappointed and will never go back.
Been coming here since I was a child. Always love my hair after leaving. Really friendly environment. Always happy to chat and help with any hair ideas I have. 110% recommended

Based on first impressions... I struggled to open the door so the lady who was sat in the salon rolled her eyes at me before begrudgingly coming to assist me. She then bluntly asked if I had an appointment which I didn't, I explained I was after a gift voucher which she again bluntly responded 'no we don't ' I'm sure I'm just being over sensitive but regardless of the current situation we're in maybe when you answer the door start with a, hello, how can I help? Just have a Kinder attitude in general. I'm sure the salon have a healthy client base so this review will mainly be redundant but I wouldn't recommend based on that first impression alone, sorry.
I won’t let ANYONE else cut or colour my hair! I have been using this salon for close to 20 years. The team are super friendly, they are all highly trained and use only Aveda products. They know what will or won’t (!!) suit me and are willing to be honest with me so that always leave the salon with a fantastic style, amazing colour and something that is manageable between appointments. I don’t live in Hull and only travel through for my appointments at Solo. It therefore pretty much takes a full day to get my hair done but I wouldn’t consider anything else. This place rocks!!!
