Here's a nice review: "Absolutely fantastic experience! The doctor Khan was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and took the time to explain everything clearly. The staff were friendly and efficient. I felt truly cared for and would highly recommend this doctor to anyone. 5/5 stars!"

I have had a very poor experience with Uni-City Medical Centre, particularly with the reception staff. The reception team has been unhelpful and unprofessional on multiple occasions. They appear dismissive and seem eager to end conversations rather than address patient concerns properly. This lack of basic customer service makes it extremely difficult to access medical care. As a patient, I expect to be treated with respect and receive assistance when needed, not to feel like a burden. Unfortunately, the attitude at reception has made this one of the worst GP practices I have dealt with. I hope the practice takes patient feedback seriously and works to improve their front desk service.

This practice used to be so good, and it honestly breaks my heart to see how much it has changed. I don’t know what happened—whether it’s the number of patients or the way things are run now—but the care and respect that once existed just aren’t there anymore. I’ve been with them since the very beginning, and I used to feel safe and cared for. Now I feel the complete opposite. The receptionist spoke to me so rudely and told me three separate times to stop calling and to “just go to my pharmacy” to get antibiotics—something pharmacists legally cannot do. I felt dismissed and completely unheard. And when I finally managed to speak with a doctor, instead of listening to my actual medical concerns, she treated me as if I was imagining things or dealing with some kind of mental health issue. That moment made me feel small, confused, and honestly shocked. To be treated that way when you’re already unwell is beyond upsetting. I’m deeply disappointed and honestly disgusted by how I was made to feel. No patient should ever be spoken to or treated like that.

Care Quality Commission rating: INADEQUATE. I'd say that's generous. My wife had a nurse appointment. Told by the nurse to make a GP appointment on the way out. Not possible as "they" hadn't put any appointments on the system. This is at 11:10. Said someone would phone when appointments are on the system. No phone call. Called next day at 10:30. "They" haven't put any appointments on the system yet. Didn't know when they would be put on. Asked if she should phone tomorrow. Told no point. Someone will phone you. When? Don't know. When "they" put the appointments on the system. It seems the managing Dr is either totally incompetent or simply doesn't care. This is NOT the way to run a surgery. It is a public service, paid for by us, Taxpayers. It should be run for the benefit and convenience of US. Don't you realise how frustrating this is? No wonder you have glass screens and zero tolerance notices in reception. Care Quality Commission rating: INADEQUATE. Yep, I'd say that's generous.

Not only is it almost impossible to actually get to speak to a human being at this surgery, but it is also a complete waste of your time if you do manage to make it through the gatekeepers. The staff are incredibly dismissive and, despite not being a student, I kept being told that I am always ill because of the 'student lifestyle' (which I don't live). They don't seem to want to help and show a lack compassion for anyone unwell which doesn't really fit the job title. Switching surgeries today but definitely WOULD NOT RECCOMEND to anyone.

Extremely rude and dismissive receptionist, blonde hair, middle aged. I was trying to ask why I wasn't able to receive a text message and instead got a form which isn't formatted to be patient friendly, it looks like it was printed and handed to me straight from the test I had.

An extremely unprofessional receptionist who made me feel incredibly judged when I asked to see a doctor about a personal private matter. She gave me extreme anxiety and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I will indeed be moving doctors. After I had made a formal complaint about how I was treated the same receptionist proceeded to contact me directly not once but 3 times calling me until I eventually picked up. Any complaint made should be kept completely anonymous so therefore this was a major breach in confidentiality. I refuse to go to the doctors for any other private matter. Which is awful… individuals should be turning to the doctors for help but to get awful treatment from a receptionist who is the welcoming start to the experience I am absolutely shocked and disgusted with the treatment I have had. (Doctors are helpful however).

By and large receptionists great, today not so much. Otherwise it's the waiting that is abysmal. They, like other surgeries, stress turning up on time. My last appointment I was kept waiting 45mins (from the original time). Prior, a good 15-20mins..

The receptionist when I went this morning was really rude. Middle aged, blonde hair and with glasses, looks a bit like the snail lady receptionist from Monsters Inc. Spoke over me and was really dismissive. Clinicians and doctors are great, however.
