Beautiful, well maintained gardens.. its like stepping back in time. The butterfly house was unique and filled with many varieties... well worth the visit on its own. However the gardens and the maze are perfect accompliments and together form a perfect attraction for an evening away.
The gardens and butterfly house are well worth looking at. The house isn't very big, but there's plenty to see. We brought a picnic and supplemented it with tea coffee from the cafe. Sat at the picnic tables amongst the many peacocks and enjoyed the sun. Gardens and maze are beautiful.
Absolutely loved the butterfly house it was most probably the best bit about going, all the butterfly are flying around you, and some even land on your hands. Cafe wasn't open when we were there not sure why. They have a lovely maze in the gardens and loads of flowers to walk around and see it's well looked after. If you have child they have a small play area that was okay.
Very nice ay out. Beautiful place and very fun to have butterflies landing in you or peacocks walking right up to you. The food in the cafe is very nice and a decent selection. Staff very friendly and helpful
First time here, a birthday treat for my daughter as she loves butterflies when she was little.Not nice driving up to the main entrance, rough and rocky dusty road! Car parking is a bit tight, greeted by 2 peacocks in the car park! £12-70p per person for the butterfly house and maze is a bit pricey for us, as the butterfly house is a bit small. Garden are well kept and tidy. Had a rest and snacks in the Café, nice area, all staff are nice,friendly and helpful, keep up with the good work.
Great for 30 mins. The service we had from the blonde girl at the desk was rude. Had we not driven for an hour to get there we would’ve left. Butterflies were fantastic, albeit a very small area.
we visited while our camper trip around northern Ireland. Great spot for family picnic. The gardens are amazing and the peacocks everywhere. butterfly house was amazing. the flyover over you. great experience for kids. well recommend
The butterfly House is a must see and visit....it was magnificent. This is followed by, birds and a small reptile house, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We finished off in beautiful gardens with a challenging maze which was great fun. Coffee shop is spacious and reasonable. We had a great afternoon here.
Stopped in while passing, parking right at entrance. Bathrooms and a cafe at the gate. You can walk around and use the play park, picnic area, cafe and bathrooms without requiring to pay an entrance fee. The peacocks and peahens wonder around the whole area and will happily walk right up beside you. If you wish to see the butterflies you pay at the door outside the butterfly enclosure (signposted). You can also pay there to enter the gardens. The grounds where impressive and seemed well looked after. Wheelchair access, this was fine in around the butterflies however, it became difficult in the garden section. The small loose stones would cause the wheels to stick or chair to slide. My cousin did become a little stressed when trying to manoeuvre as he required help. He said his hands where sore from the vibrations. Those of us not wheelchair bound thought the park was lovely and would recommend.
Had a beautiful time at the butterfly house and gardens, got there sort of early and just sat for as long as possible in the butterfly house enjoying them fly about. It was a really lovely day for my mental health. The day was quite wet but the gardens looked really magical in the rain, when we visited the peacocks were walking around with their babies. We got some coffee at the railway Street cafe on site and just enjoyed the day being in such a beautiful place with the birds and butterflies
