Lovely environment and staff. Interesting food options but quite small portions. I'd go again to try other things on the menu but only small selection.
Went to buy paint from the Dulux mixing centre. A guy called Dave came to do the 'honours' and quite frankly he was unhelpful, dismissive, verging on rude and not exactly what you would call customer orientated. I was tempted to just walk out. Paint mixed he takes the lid off to show the colour, yep great puts the lid back on and proceeds to get paint all over the lid / lip and just hands it to me!! Any normal person would have wiped it down with the paper towel just by the station for that purpose presumably, no....I had to ask for some towel to wipe it myself! On a positive note the lady on the till was lovely.
Being a regular and not living far dim Wickes I must tell you how very helpful the staff are . I often go in on my mobility scooter and ask at the pay points or staff if they can tell me where I can find things that I want. Nearly always they walk to show me and when I buy they’ll scan things on my scooter so I don’t have to bend and pick them up. I often take my dog on the scooter and the staff always offer him dog treats , they love him his names Lucky and he’s a ShihTzus . I went in yesterday on my electric bike and small trailer for some bags of stones for putting over black out cloth to kill the weeds. I got 5 bags but took only 2 .The staff told me to leave the rest on the trolley and leave the rest near the door and do 2 more runs which I did. They are brilliant staff and it’s well worth going in for a brilliant service and don’t forget , it’s dog friendly.
Considering I have chosen to use Wickes for the past 20 years spending thousands per year in the process, one might expect a little better customer service. I mainly use trade centres for my materials such as kitchens and raw materials such as timber but I find with my trade card Wickes are good for other products. I find they are the best place for their laminate flooring (my company fits a lot) Also I buy a lot of other materials like their Metro wall tiles. I previously gave Wickes 5 stars which gathered a fair few thumbs up, however I have since retracted that review. Instead I have given them 2 stars after yesterday's episode and this is purely on 'Wickes grimsby' customer service. I wanted some laminate floor and as usual they didn't have enough stock. I needed 11 packs yet they only had seven. I asked a female staff member (who has worked there as long as I have been shopping there) if She could check to see if they had any more in their warehouse. Well, even my daughter asked me what her problem was. She was giving me answers before she had even checked, she told me I couldn't get it on delivery, then when she checked and found I could (I already knew I could) she asked how many I needed, the answer I gave her was 4 and she asked me again how many I actually needed, the answer still being a more abrupt FOUR! Then she said it could only be delivered because they still had 7 in stock and she needs to sell that first. So I finally asked her if I can still have the other 4 delivered once I buy their remaining stock? I needed to get the floor fitted for one of my tenants moving in to one of my many properties & her reply was, "maybe". So I left the store and drove 26 miles up the road to Scunthorpe and got what I needed without a problem. I had a similar experience with buying a bath tub a couple of weeks prior for another property, however I won't bore you with that!
Generally good - generally good service and well stocked but can’t get past the fact I got a parking ticket for staying in the car park for just over an hour. Very disappointed!
We went in to price up a kitchen. They have a nice range. We sat down with a member of staff and talked about what we wanted, she was really helpful and professional. Great service. Unfortunately a week later we got a parking ticket in the post because we was there an hour and fifteen minutes. So for that reason I will not be purchasing our kitchen from wickes.
