I had an incredible experience on this coastal tour! We started in Chapel town, Ballyhornan, sheepland and finished up in Ardglass. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the area’s history and folklore. Every stop along the way came to life through their storytelling — from ancient legends to local traditions, hidden coves and features along the coast you would never find on your own. The mix of history, nature, and myth made it such a unique and memorable experience. You could really feel the connection between the landscape and the stories that have shaped it. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the coast from a deeper, more authentic perspective. Duane has a wealth of information. And when he offers you a homemade walking stick take them they are a great help! This was a great birthday present idea.

I returned for my second trip on the Patrick and the pagan hills walk in autumn. Duane is so informative about area, combined with the astonishing natural Irish beauty retained in the area, I could never have appreciated fully the history or nature on one visit. From Lough Money, along traditional hawthorn and blackberry hedgerows, bordered by stone walls, we made our way to the landing point of Patrick at the River Slaney. Via a neolithic monument that would have been central to the druid faith, set in the middle of a stunning wildflower field, a sparrowhawk was taking full advantage of the ecology generated. At the river Slaney we had our picnic and enjoyed hearing how Dichu drew his sword on Patrick, but through divine intervention his arm was frozen. Later to convert along with Kings from their faith of druidism, with some very bloody practices, he gave Patrick a barn to build his first Christian church at Saul. This time our visit was amidst flags celebrating the #blueandgoldcountry win of Saul GAC in the IFC. Onwards to St Tassach's church, the Saint who gave St Patrick the last sacraments, and possibly watched over the groups safe visit through the herd of curious cattle. As with many of Duane's rambles, this was an experience of all the senses. Grounding in ancient paths, wonderful.
