   Such a shame storm Bertie was the cause of the Saturday market closing early. It was cold, wet and windy, not the best market conditions. That said Beverley has an amazing number of shops, both big name and independent which made shopping a pleasure. The Minster and St Mary's are well worth a visit, truly magnificent buildings.

   Beverley has quite a reputation as a popular destination for shopping and a bite to eat and the market is a big part of that reputation. But I have to say on the occasion that I visited it was a complete shambles. A lot of empty stalls and what were trading were either selling food to eat straight away or food for home consumption, not much else. The weather couldn't be blamed as it was a glorious sunny day, all in all a big disappointment.

   I love Beverly markets on a Saturday, this week they had a great range of food from Indian curries and pakoras,to sausage rolls and sweet pastries. Lots of little stalls with great Christmas ideas. Not forgetting the quality vegetable and fruit stalls, everything you need for Christmas.

   Great outdoor market in a pretty town. Plenty to see. Lots of lovely local crafts. Main road was closed to traffic for the stalls. Parking was tricky, as it was busy on a sunny Saturday Bank Holiday. But well worth a visit. Lots of quaint shops too. Great Church too. Lots of history x

   Nice little town.With its own Minster.Enough shops to entertain with its own Weatherspoons. A must go is the white horse pub ..pretty old and stills runs on gaslight! The star of Beverley is the 'Beverley Arms hotel'. Simply superb.Friendly professional staff.Superb food. A tad expensive but you get what you pay for and this was a rare treat.
