I booked here in Xmas eve for six if us before we went to the panto. What a terrible experience! We were put on two separate tables even though we are a family. We had candles on out tables but the woman who seemed to be in charge refused twice to light them at my request saying they dont light them until 16.30, she had a terrible no can do attitude and made us feel as if we were a nuisance to be honest, she even said she has a packed order book to get through, no time and acted all stressed because I had asked her to lite the candles again!. We were given tiny meals at £18.00 per head with no knives, forks , water for the table or sauces and one of our party memebers meal being forgotten.. We had to ask for every thing at the annoyance of the head waitress who rushed everything and generally had an attitude that really doesn't belong in customer service. We were all still hungry when we left which couldnt come soon enough. To the waitress, your attitude really could have spoiled a family evening out if we had let it. We will never return.

Overpriced food made me feel like a mug. Almost £50 for 2 cheese burgers, a beer and a coke. £18 for a cheese burger! What a joke! I wouldn’t mind so much if it was a gourmet burger. But it little more than a mini canapé burger…! No salad, no sides, no sauces and 10 chips. (I counted them!) None of the serving staff checked in on us to see how we were. Might as well have gone to McDs for better value food and service. I like the pub and the atmosphere, but no wonder people aren’t spending on the high street when you are being ripped off like this. Make the prices more sensible and you will get more custom.

Had an amazing night at The Vaults in Southsea watching No Weddings. The band absolutely smashed it, tight, energetic, and full of presence. The pub was jumping all night, packed with a buzzing crowd and a brilliant atmosphere. The staff were great, really friendly and on the ball, and the other customers were just as welcoming. A proper Southsea gem. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a brilliant location to get together with friends and family! There are so many different areas and you can section off one of them if you want to have a private function including the little outdoor terrace. The staff were very polite and helpful and I have been to a lot of other bars which could learn something from the manners of the staff here. Massive respect to them. The only thing I would say as that we found the music to be very cheesy and not to the taste of anyone in our group and the venue got a little noisy at times with the post football crowd and then a table who were loudly and drunkenly singing along to the music but the venue is quite large so we managed to move ourselves to another more tucked away large table. We ate pizza there and it was great quality pizza although with not a lot of topping so I wouldn't make a beeline to go there for the food. It was ok as a pre-drink stomach liner. We were able to put the birthday cake we brought with us in the fridge in the kitchen which was great but when we came to cut the cake there were no plates or forks available because of a private function onsite which was a shame. However plastic boxes were kindly provided for us to box up the leftovers. It is unclear if it is possible to hire the venue and have a DJ there. They do have a disabled toilet. There is also craft beer available there. The bottle of presecco we had there was ok. I took the photos towards the back end of the evening when most people had gone.

A great pub, part of the must-gos of a weekend evening on Albert Road. The crowd is trendy casual, with an eclectic mix of patrons. Great ambiance, lots of different spaces and niches inside, giving you several more private areas, from near the bar or the stage to around the games area or TV. It offers great live music on weekends, everything from Rock to Jazz, for everyone from groups of young people to the more mature, affluent groups unwinding up after a busy week at work. Try it, you won't regret it.
