Absolutely awful firm!! If you get arrested and these are the duty solicitors whatever you do DO NOT SIGN THE PAPER THEY WILL AS YOU TO SIGN because once you sign that form you are tied to them! They don’t return your calls and definitely don’t fight for you, never ever received such a bad service from anything in my life ! I want no one else to go through the things we are, please avoid these like the plague for your own sake
Absolutely terrible solicitors. I would not recommend them to anybody. My partner was facing charges for something he did not do. He decided to use stevens solicitors to help him with this case. There was cctv footage supporting my partner actions, clearly showing his innocence. His solicitor Harprey Jawa still advised him to go guilty because my partner was in segregation the day before court. Harprey Jawa thought this would've looked bad to the judge so he advised him to plead guilty. In the cctv footage, u can see he did not do what the accusers mentioned in their statements. There were other pieces of evidence such as dna testing to find any skin of my partners hand on the accusers clothes. This came up inconclusive and my partners DNA was found. The accusations of the crime happened in a public place, outside of a court where there were police officers and alot of people walking around which makes the accusers (liars) case even more silly and stupid. My partner was not in the right mental state on the day of trail which he mentioned to harprey jawa but he did not tell the judge that my partner wasnt in the right mindframe on the day therefore he listened to jawas wrongful advice to plead guilty. When my partner got more information from another solicitor and started to go through the process of reopening this case/ an appeal under wrongful advice, he told stevens and they said they felt 'professionally embarrassed '. They did not help in anyway and said that he should find another solicitor and then they hung up the phone call mid conversation. If you value your liberation and your family's name, then DO NOT USE STEVENS SOLICITORS. I would rate them 0 stars if I could.
Was recommended stevens by a friend to represent my partner had 2 years and 10 months of rearranged court dates and 2 different barristers, no fight for my partner whatsoever, if anything it was the barristers mistake of words that has now landed him.a custodial sentence! Been chasing advice on appeal for nearly 2 weeks and no one wants to answer the phone to me they pass messages back through reception, requested information on the barristers and his Chambers and was interrogated into why I wanted these! Still no phone call this morning still passing messages through receptionists, my partner rang from prison to be told they no nothing about him, still no appeal advice AVOID at all costs absolutely shocking no empathy no customer.service wouldn't even waste your time

Use Stevens Solicitors at your PERIL in police interviews - any of the offices but especially so any from Longton. Expect them to say nothing to help your case and even aid the police. If you get the impression they and the police are best of friends, that's because they are and are working to help each other. See other reviews - this is not just a one-off experience. Having a compromised solicitor will cost you dearly. They are more than happy to just pick up the legal aid. You would literally be better off with no solicitor than one from Stevens. Do yourself a massive favour and LOOK ELSEWHERE.
Shocking. Different person everytime. Tried to get me to plead guilty even though I was innocent and proven innocent in the end but with no thanks to the Solicitors.
I went to court, James Hulse defended me, he compiled a defence for my case, and guided me to a successful ending. I can't speak highly enough about James, he is absolutely brilliant. I would recommend him to anyone, and I would not hesitate to use him again in the future. Top drawer guy.
