One expects to trust a solicitor. One expects honesty and integrity. This company is shocking. You have been warned - be very very careful with Placidi. There are many competent honest decent solicitors around. I’ve reported this Company to the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
After my parents entrusting their dying wishes to these people Michael Devall has been unreachable. After phone calls and emails he finally got back to me after over 1 year… being that I live abroad I’ve been anxiously trying to find out progress. Now the estate is gone and I don’t have time to do anything about it. I will be taking this further. Inexcusable, disgraceful, unprofessional and lazy. Disgusted… wasn’t even notified that the Will was read. Haven’t seen a copy which I’m entitled to, asked for all of the above, no answer another month has gone by. They don’t give a damn. Do not trust these people.
Utterly incompetent and have not responded to an urgent matter for a month which is resulting in my being taken to court. AVOID! Placidi helped me when I sold a property by auction in Feb 2023. Since then I have been chased by the firm that represents the lease holders asking for the transfer of deeds document to confirm I am no longer responsible for it. I have been asking Placidi to share with me all completed documents from the sale of the property. A year on they still have not sent me this. The new owner has requested a valuation for the lease which the lease holders have incurred costs for. Due to Placidi's incompetence and not sending the appropriate documentation over - I am now liable for these costs. The firm chasing the lease holder payments gave me additional time in which to chase Placidi myself to get the correct document. I have phoned them continuously for the last month and followed up with emails and heard absolutely nothing from Michael Devall or Linda Clelland despite being promised they will return my call. I am now doing this in the hope something will be rectified. But ultimately they failed to do the job they were paid to do.
I had a successful outcome using this firm 4 years ago, they helped me resolve an issue I had. However, since then, I phoned the office on 5 occasions 1 of which was urgent . They didn't have the decency to call me. I will never engage their services again.
Used this company 1 year ago to do the conveyancing on a flat I was selling and the service for the price was exceptional. Could not fault. Contacted them recently to do conveyancing on a house I am selling and their prices have gone up by 500% and are now on average £500 more expensive than their nearest competitor. Obviously not interested in retaining clients and have become greedy and complacent. So sad as I really wanted to retain the relationship.
