   Beware !! Had shoulder cuff operation January 24 . Ended up having more issues and chronic pain than before operation . Had 3 steroid injections constantly removing bursa excess fluid ( always spurted out ) after op. New consultant agreed to further op to address issues ongoing. Booked in for operation , day before informed , need High Dependency bed as having shutdown period in afternoon theses are due to sporadic sleep due to pain . Said would transfer me to nhs and would be internal patient transfer avoiding lengthy wait . Was mislead to get me off their books , new consultant who knows all the other consultants ( at st Hugh’s) agreed to op. Yes you know it , 25 week wait till operation , shoulder swollen , 3 times a night wake up with numb fingers in hand and chronic pain . These consultants are disgusting allowing a veteran to suffer constantly in chronic pain while they all have a good laugh . Even now writing this true review the pain is intolerable . Shame on you all .

   The care I have received in the endoscopy unit is superb. The staff are kind and compassionate. The nurses are absolutely amazing and the consultant is the most approachable, competent and considerate man. I was extremely sad to learn that this department is being closed down. It will be a great loss to the hospital. Thank you to all the staff.

   I was referred to St Hughs through NHS Choose and Book pathway with hip joint issues requiring a hip replacement. Had this procedure undertaken on 25th March. The care I have recieved can only be described as exemplary from start to finish from preassessment to discharge. Communication through the various admin teams has been spot on as well as the written information. The preassessment was meticulous and informative. On the day of the operation I was met by a very professional team of nurses who were reassuring, kind and caring. I really felt in good hands which is very important to a patient in reducing anxiety. I did not feel rushed by any member of the team from reception, admin, nursing, physio and domestic team. Last but not least, the medical team were spot on. Mr Datir, along with the anaesthetist who worked together to perform my operation were so professional and reasurring. Thos is an excellent example of how a patient should be cared for in hospital. Thank you all so much.

   I am a patient here at St Hugh’s hospital in Grimsby undergoing cosmetic surgery by the brilliant surgeon, Mr Riaz! From my 1st consultation to my admission and surgery today, everyone and everything has been brilliant. I had upper and lower facelift, one being the pioneering R lift meaning less recovery time. I had upper lids, neck liposuction and a chin implant. It took 5 hours and hurts like hell now but the brilliant staff are on top of pain and anything they can do to make you feel more comfortable- none of it is no trouble at all! I’m in a private room, can pay in instalments which, for me, meant I could get it done sooner at 54 rather than wait for my pension to mature and take the plunge. Mr Riaz was recommended to me - it’s all subtle but dramatic results as I have met many patients who I only know had any work because they told me. Staff are incredible like my main carer, Lucy but also Riaz’s Angels, Kerry-Anne, Sheila and Robyn (who makes the best hot chocolate!. Caroline, Mick the anaesthetist, Dr Petra and so many others I’ll have to add into this review later. I’ve been self-concious and planning this for years because of my genetics and low-self esteem the last few years, I’ve taken steps to stop the clock and make some adjustments to give myself a boost despite my lovely friends and family saying I don’t need it. Check in later to see results, physically and mentally! I hope to stop hiding away so much. Thanks to everyone at St Hugo’s for looking after me with their big hearts and professionalism.    I would just like say how much a very good surgeon Mr desai is at St.hughes. he has now operated on me 3 times. Because of various problems I've had.he is a super top man. And such a sweet caring man. Very professional. Super cool. Excellent at his job. And certainly knows his stuff. Very intelligent man. He makes you feel at ease. And has he has operated on me 3 times now, I think I'm a very good person to do a review and listen too. I highly recommend this surgeon to everyone , everywere! . He is a asset to st. Hughes hospital.

   After months of being let down by our local NHS hospital, my husband, on a whim, decided to book me a private appointment. That led to me having ENT surgery at St. Hugh's Hospital. The hospital was excellent! The private room was spotless and looked onto the garden. I was absolutely terrified after having a traumatic experience last year, at our local NHS hospital, but the staff at St. Hugh's were so kind. I stayed overnight and a male nurse, who came in to do my blood pressure in the middle of the night, actually stayed for a few minutes to just talk to me - something so small, but very appreciated at that time. I went in with such low expectations after last year's NHS experience, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Consultant, anaesthetist, nurses and housekeeping staff were all fantastic - kind, efficient, polite. I highly recommend this hospital. Care is excellent!

   WOW what can I say about this hospital? Well first impressions were not very good my son had an operation booked and was told to be here for 12:30 But arrive 11:45 for us be COVID tested. We arrived at 11:36 and reported via phone to reception. A rather friendly chap came out and tested us in the car, we then sat for 50 minutes awaiting the test results. At this point I’m thinking we will be here all day and night. When you think about it tho you release the times we are in and if COVID got into the hospital the. Where would we be? So my initial disappointment was replaced with the understanding the need for the delay. When we got into the hospital we were quickly taken to the hospital room with a big tv on the wall, on suite with a bath and shower, chairs and a table along with the bed and a door into a garden. You know it’s a hospital it felt more hotel kind of feel. The consultant and operating staff came and spoke with us and explained everything perfectly. We knew just what was going to happen and what risks we could expect even tho a very small change of them. The nurses and staff’s attitude and work efficiently was amazing. Checking on my son, before and after the surgery. In my opinion totally above what was expected. While my son was having his surgery I was in his room waiting and I was checked on and even brought tea and biscuits. When my son was brought back from recovery again he was checked on by very attentive staff. They were so friendly, caring and helpful even tho you could hear them working non stop. I have got to say a massive thank you to everyone at this hospital who had any contact with my son and I. WHAT A FANTASTIC AND AMAZING SERVICE BY OUR NHS STAFF
