Had the worst scampi this evening, it was luke warm and despite being told it was not frozen, I’m not convinced. The pieces were uniform in size and when I cut them open the prawns were in small mushy bits . I complained and was told that they would bring me a fresh portion , however my original order was returned to me just heated up, I told a second server that it was not good but no interest was shown and despite leaving all the scampi , the server just cleared the plates with no comment or interest . Food is so expensive these days , so it’s really disappointing to pay €28 for something that tasted like a cheap frozen product. . .For balance one of my companions had a steak meal which was good and our other friend had fish which she said was okay but only lukewarm .

The good old Break, bland as it ever was. Nothing stands out here and I rarely get a Steak cooked how I like it. Everything is extra and that homemade food they used to do is gone. Everything is bought now, its cheaper and lacks the quality it once had 20 years ago. Over priced, bland, ordinary with a menu that has seen little to no change ever, its a restaurant/pub stuck in time but which has made cuts here and charges extra for things you would hope comes with. There is not one spectacular thing in this place and am always disappointed. I only go when invited for someone else's birthday or something.

One of the best seafood restaurants I’ve been to in Ireland. We had the hot seafood platter, the crab, and desserts were homemade and delicious. The seafood didn’t need much seasoning / sides as it was so fresh and flavoursome The menu in here might be a bit old fashioned for some but the food is of the highest quality and that little bit more expensive. The interior is very cosy and has a real Irish pub feel to it. Staff are very attentive and friendly Gavin & his team went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience serving great pints of Guinness, he even told us a bit about the local area. I am looking forward to bringing my family back here

Busy restaurant. Make sure to book prior if you can. Great views at sunset from the upstairs balcony. Food is delicious and servings are large. One of my favorites when I am in Dundalk / Black Rock.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the fillet steak medium-rare, which came with chips. The sides of mushrooms, onion rings, and pepper sauce were extra, which was fine as it was clearly identified on the menu. The chips were cold and had that congealed fat texture. The mushrooms were wrinkly and cooked badly while the onions rings were soft, and batter taste was raw flour, and the pepper sauce was lumpy and did not taste good. The worst piece of my dish was by far the fillet streak, it was burnt on the outside and completely raw in the inside. I regularly have steaks when I eat out, always request medium-rare, and I generally get it properly cooked. This was not the case here. I ate some of the steak around the edges, but not much. The quality of the steak was definitely on the lower end of the scale in this case. I left the food largely uneaten, as I knew from what had been served up that any replacement would have been similar poor standard, both quality and cooking. When we asked for the bill, one of the servers asked how it was, I pointed to the raw steak, she apologised. I understand mistakes can happen in service, so I was willing to chalk it down to a bad experience and move on. However, what really annoyed me was the following interaction: The original rude server who had taken our order returned and in a very confrontational manor asked me did I have a problem with my steak. I informed her that it was burnt on the outside and completely raw on the inside. She responded with “That’s how we do medium-rare here!” I then informed here I regularly eat steak out, and get medium-rare, and never have I been served raw, uncooked steak. She repeatedly repeated “That’s how we do medium-rare here!” about 5 of 6 times in an increasingly aggressive manner. A night we had been looking forward to, was completely ruined by the bad food and the attitude of this person. Suffice to say, we shall not be returning to this establishment. I would not recommend The Brake to anyone.
